Obviously he wants to be the guy and not have to worry about someone taking his spot.
I don't blame him. McCoy still has a pocket of vocal supporters in this town who are convinced he got a raw deal and will keep pining for him to be inserted.

It is time to just cut the cancer out and begin our new chapter with Weeden.

If Seneca Wallace is the back-up, no one is going to be clamoring for him to be starting over Weeden, No one.

SF kept Alex Smith even when he wasn't starting. If we're getting rid of McCoy (a young high end #2 QB) because of some vocal fans, then H&H and get GTFO.

They already drafted based on fans QQing imo, not sure what will stop them from getting rid of a player because of the fans too.

Agree completely. As long as McCoy is still on this roster there will be "Colt" chants in that stadium. Both parties need a fresh start.

They also never drafted another 1st round QB while he was there.

When you spend a #1 pick on a player, he has to start. Period.

McCoy is just a big drama queen at this point. I know he gets it from his daddy, but we just don't need that kind of guy around here.

I was watching SportsNation today and the #3 off-season story was the Browns QB controversy. I was suprised of it being that high because I dont see it being that big of an issue.

“If you look at Emmitt Smith and the kind of blocking he had, I don’t think he’d have close to the career he had (without it),” Brown said. “But if you take a Gale Sayers, Walter Payton, Eric Dickerson … Earl Campbell, there’s something special there.
“Emmitt was a warrior. But when it comes to the first level of backs, Emmitt would not be in my first level
I do agree with this...but Brown still sucks.

I'm not impressed by Weeden looking good in rookie camp and OTA's. Let's not forget one of the major knocks on him before the draft was his below average performance under pressure, and he's not facing anything like that right now. I'm not saying he can't/won't be good, just saying it's not that big of a deal to look good in practice.
