Marvin shot 51%, 43% from 3, and 85% FT. Played 22 min/game as a FRESHMAN, scored 11 a game and grabbed 7 boards.

What is wildly inconsistent about that?

Pls be honest on the worse....you didn't think for a second most of those Dukies were going to be better than they are/were

When it mattered, vs Illinois, Marvin was in and hit the go ahead basket to win the title. I dont remember exactly, but once he got accustomed to the college game, it seemed his play took off (right around conference play maybe..UNC fans??)
Yes. He also hit the game winner on senior day in Chapel Hill against Dook.

jordo, please just stop.

You're getting a Clipper sized beat down right now.

Or a Phoenix sized beat down.. Holy shit is that game out of hand.

What was his expectations? Few Dukies at that time had ever amounted to anything in the NBA....I did think he might be a 8-12 ppg game guy barely starting for a bad team or coming off the bench.

I forget, how high was he drafted? 7th?

I knew they wouldn't be very good but I didn't think they would be as bad as they have been. Isn't that the question "who is worse than you thought"?

11th.

I thought JJ would be a HUGE bust. But he has exceeded my expectations.

yeah, I was going more on him piggybacking Lebron in HS. There was a lot of hype then...and you are right, he was a very good, not great player in college.

I just have a hard time believing Redick and Duhon are not as good as you expected. I can't believe Duhon got 1/3 as much playing as he did/does.....and you did not think Redick would be around double digits scoring on a top 4 playoff seed.

And as a Duke fan....can't believe Sheldon Williams even made the league for more than a year or two

DeMarcus averaged a double double in his rookie season.

Rajon Rondo's lack of perceived talent can be attributed to the awful Tubby Smith.

Rondo under a coach like Calipari would've been a top 3-5 lottery pick.

He had multiple offers to come and try and play in the league, he chose to stay overseas where he would have made more money anyway.

Especially in that draft. One of the worst I can remember.

Scoonie is still one of my favorite Buckeyes but I didn't really see him as an NBA guy.

Mike Redd was one who surprised me though

Those guys got a bad rep at Stanford because of the Collins brothers. Robin was close to them, but Brooke was MUCH better.

Didn't expect much....but thought Kosta Koufas would've been at least a contributor off the bench.

Williams was the #5 pick in the draft. I think they were expecting more than 1 or 2 from him. I expected JJ Reddick to at least average 10-15 ppg (he has avg 7.7) considering he was the all time leading scorer in ACC history coming out of College.

Since I just saw he got a flagrant 2 tonight....Drew Gooden. And because I know the talent he actually possess, he is just too big of a pussy to showcase it...Jared Jeffries.

JJ couldn't and still can't get his own shot.

But YOU didn't think that. You didn't think Redick was going for 15 ppg because he led the ACC scoring record.

Was he over 10 ppg last year? Did you think Chris Corchiani was going to go for 5-7 assists per game?
