OJ Mayo was also the next big thing after Lebron came out of ASVSM. He is good, but never really improved that much from high school.

LOL please stop.

Marvin played over 20 min a game as a FRESHMAN on a National Championship team. He averaged 11 and 7. AS A FRESHMAN.

Harrison Barnes is a true wing player and can score from anywhere. Not as athletic though.

Barnes really reminds me more of Joe Johnson.
Barnes doesn't have nearly the handle of a Joe Johnson, which is the biggest thing he is missing imo

lol. Marvin Williams might have been the best player for UNC as a 6th man. He was unstoppable at times that season.

BOOOOO This man!!! lol.

A lot of people thought he wouldnt do anything, and honestly Im not sure why? A bit undersized, but more explosive and stronger/quicker than most in the league when he was in HS.

People forget he led the B1G in scoring as a freshman, and played the entire conference season with a broken right wrist.

I just didn't see him as a 22+ ppg guy.

Gotcha. I personally though he would be a top 10 scorer and still think he will be. But he has been injury prone, and it could derail his career. I am, admittedly, 100% biased though lol.

Let's just put it this way...

Carolina doesn't win the National Championship without Marvin.

Not to mention how he took over a big game against Villanova in the Elite 8.

You guys liked him a lot more than Roy Williams did during that season haha.

He had some good games while there, but he was wildly inconsistent

I though Gary McLain would have done more after leading Villanova to the title.

Come on man. He was behind 2 MCD AA. 1 a SR (Williams) and 1 a JR (Sean May). Dont go overboard like he was buried in the doghouse lol.

When it mattered, vs Illinois, Marvin was in and hit the go ahead basket to win the title. I dont remember exactly, but once he got accustomed to the college game, it seemed his play took off (right around conference play maybe..UNC fans??)

I think many are hedging on mentioning him....he is way more functional on a good team than just about anyone thought he would.
