It's as much career accomplishments as it is seasonal. Once you establish your 'name', you get votes purely from that. And if your team is good, and you were a big name before, you get votes by your team being good.

Exactly. One of the years Joe Thomas made it I didn't think he was deserving and I think one year Jonathan Ogden made it when he was out injured 8 or 10 games.

Which year did you not think he was deserving? He has been all pro every year other than his rookie season.

Victor Cruz got screwed as well:

76 Rec
1358 Yds
17.9 yds/rec
8 TD's

Cruz and White should be in over Fitz and Jennings.

I'm not saying roddy doesn't deserve out, but leading the league in drops doesn't help him.

They should just invite the players from non-playoff teams. That is usually what it turns out to be anyways. Pats-Packers/Niners in the Super Bowl and then about 15 players drop out of the Pro Bowl. Lame.

Lol....I'd seriously watch that stuff. One of the most exciting things I ever watched was a 100 race between Carl Lewis, Leroy Burrell, Darrell Green and Rod Woodson.

The Pro Bowl really just needs to go away. They should just name an All-Pro team, and have some festivities involving those guys at the Super Bowl. I've honestly never watched a single Pro Bowl.

Well that would last 10 secs what are they going to do to fill the other 3 hrs with? Players racing horses?

Those NFL pre-games can add on and kill some time. The Pro Bowl is trying not to be a joke....but is. I would watch creative freak athletic shows more than I would watch the Pro Bowl.

Line up the best 6 receivers and let them run 10-15 yards and jump off of a slightly elevated runway and see who could make the best catches into a pool.

Change it up every year for about 5 years and then come back and find a way for the Pro Bowl to mean a little.

You watch Philip Rivers and Eli Manning play in the Pro Bowl.....I would much rather an NFC vs AFC 4x100 race using the fastest Wr, QB, LB, OL

Teams wouldn't allow their players to participate in silly games.

That 4x100 would be hilarious.

When did the 6 best recievers in the NFL run 10-15 yds on a elevated runway and try and catch a ball jumping into a pool?
I am sure the Lions would love for Megatron to compete in that. Nice fail attempt not surprised though.

I wasn't specifically speaking of the suggested events, but there has been top NFL players participating in "silly" events. Not surprised that went over your head.

A few years ago ESPN had an AFC V.S. NFC skills challenge during the summer. Players competed in obstacle courses, home run derbys, golf range competition, DODGE BALL, etc. If you don't think Peyton Manning playing Dodge ball is "silly," then you are an idiot, but regardless of whether you are an idiot or not (hint: you are), the Colts allowed him to play.

Please tell me how any of the things I derived in 12 seconds of thought is 1/5 as likely to injure a player compared to playing in a Pro Bowl game?

Megaton running and jumping into a pool while catching a ball? You do realize the water "gives" right? He's not catching machetes while landing on broken glass surrounded by grizzly bears.
