Hmm, not sure I like that deal for Pacers.

Edit: More I think about it the more I think it gives them an instant upgrade on offense, but I've always been high on Collison. Steve Nash is pretty old and has a history of back issues. that's a bit scary to give up on a nice young piece for Nash who when healthy gives you instant offense and a shooting threat.

However the Pacers are what 4-1 right now with all 4 or 5 of their biggest minutes guys shooting under 40%. that trend isn't going to continue.

I haven't watched any of the Pacers games this season so I cant say how Collison has played this season.

Collison is having a solid year. He was a dissapointment last year, but this season is averaging 7 assists...but he isnt a scorer. Only 10 pts per game. Last year was 12, so I wouldnt expect it to go up much. Collison can improve going forward with his career. But if the Pacers dont see him as the PG of the future (and I dont think they do) than going "win now" it might not be a bad trade. By win now, I mean Nash helps them this season and maybe next. After that Nash is likely done and Collison may be the better option. But the team is young, and have plenty of time to get a Nash replacement. So it isnt a true Win Now, Suffer Later. Its more Win Now, Win Later with a new PG.

I definitely wouldn't make that trade if I'm the Pacers. Nash is about to be 38 and he's only averaging 11 ppg right now. With his complete lack of anything resembling defense, if he isn't putting up big offensive numbers he's basically worthless.

Even if they aren't sold on him being the PG of the future, I think he's more valuable right now than Nash is at this point in their respective careers.

Nash also had bruised ribs to start the year and couldnt shoot. Last game was the best they had felt (healed) and he went like 9/13 and scored 21 pts.

What team are you trying to fill out???? Pacers?

Starters/Back-ups
Nash/Hill
George/Jones
Granger/Jones
West/Hansborough
Hibbert/Foster

That is their 9 deep once Foster is healthy.

Look a little more closely...It matches the type of players they are perceived to go after. :D

But seriously, why is AJ Price(former UConn Husky, thats why I follow him) not getting much burn? Not trying to say he should or shouldn't be, because I don't know.

Joke

My Head.

Anyway, Paul George sounds like a white name, so that would work right? lol And he isnt getting much time, imo, because they have George Hill running a pseudo PG spot. Im not sure how effective it can be, but they havent played anyone good yet so who knows. Price is really they only TRUE PG after Collison, so you would think he would be the 2nd teamer, especially with some ok minutes last year.

That was the joke after the Jazz took Gordon Hayward, that they would take Paul George because his name sounded like that of a white guy's.

Yeah I saw that Price got minutes last year, so I was surprised that he wasn't this year. With your 9 deep, who would be the 10th? Price and move Hill to SG? If they do get Nash, a PG might have to play more minutes. Who knows, they might have to give up Jones or Price to get Nash.

I think Price will see minutes go up. My 9 deep was more based off of what Ive seen. I dont see how George Hill can cut it playing PG minutes all year.

Ryan Anderson is really playing well for Orlando. Easily the MIP to this early point. 23 and 15 tonight.

And Granger is really not playing well for Indiana. Pacers should have made that draft trade with Minnesota. George is more of a natural SF anyway.

Actually I can't say easily the MIP, because Mullens would probably be in that discussion too right now.

Ooooh..

With Manu out, that means one of my favorite Tar Heels get some more minutes. Danny Green. I only hope they let him dance pregame. lol

Philadelphia wins behind a 21-6-4 from Evan Turner. Nice to see him have a good game.

Clippers score 41 in the first quarter and are up 15 on the Rockets.

Rough LA trip for Houston.

Clips get that 41 so I had to look up the quarter scoring record...
  • Most points in a quarter
  • 58 by the Buffalo Braves at the Boston Celtics on October 20, 1972 (4th quarter)
That is just stupid.

So I also had to look up fewest points...
  • Fewest points in a quarter
  • 2 by the Dallas Mavericks at the Los Angeles Lakers on April 6, 1997 (3rd quarter)
  • 2 by the Golden State Warriors vs. the Toronto Raptors on February 8, 2004 (4th quarter)
How do you only score 2 points in a quarter in the NBA???
