How McCoy ended up in 3rd over Suh is beyond me. The midwest, northeast, and east all had Ingram, Gerhart, McCoy. I'd like to know the percentage of voters from those regions that turned in their votes early, because they couldn't have seen Suh single handedly beat the heisman trophy right out of McCoy's hands.

That is because most in those regions have not gotten the chance to see Suh play like the others. Gerhart gets hyped every week on game day. Never really heard much about Suh until he put on that show in Dallas.lol
He may be the number on pick in the draft next spring.

Suh is what the Heisman is supposed to be about. I like Ingram, and his numbers were fantastic, but you have to think the fact that Bama hasn't had a Heisman winner played into the voting a little bit. The numbers Suh put up are absolutely unheard of for a D Linemen, and he was doubled most of the season. He dominated, period. Congrats to Ingram, but I feel like Suh got slighted.

It's kind of amazing that for the first 72 years of this award no sophomore had won. Now we've had three sophomores in a row win it.

He was a beast more than one game. Just because no one was watching doesn't mean it didn't happen.

I can think of at least one other on ESPN alone where I watched him dominate (Mizzou).

True, and Gameday ran a feature segment on him about halfway through the season. Nebraska probably should have "campaigned" for the heisman a little more.

Suh should've gotten it, but can't argue w/ Ingram.

The award is a joke, SUH was best player .... so Change name of award to "best player on best undefeated team"

Don't mind the pick, he's really earned it this year, but I think Gerheart suffered from nobody in those 3 regions they wre talking about seeing Stanford play all year.... if they'd have been on East Coast tv more than 3 times people would have seen more of what he could do.

Im not sure what Im supposed to wonder?? Previous 2 sophs that won it put up insane numbers and definitely deserved to win it. This year Ingram deserved it just as much as the others imo. Some say that voters might of turned in their ballot before the conference championships, Im not buying that so much when their last thought of Ingram would be him getting hurt and not playing well. Conf championship he had a great game that I think sealed the heismen up for him.

Was Suh the best player in college football? Ya he is. But with only one player from the defensive side of the ball ever winning it (Woodson did play some offense and returned kicks which helped him in being a game changer) I dont think anyone really expected Suh to actually win it. Should be a great honor just to be invited to the show as a defensive player.

I thought Suh should've won but Ingram is a class act.

Can't argue with the Ingram after the game he had against Florida. I guess I was leaning toward Gerhart and like it was said earlier only a 28 point difference. Congratulations to all the finalists on great careers.

There were at least 3 times you could have seen Suh play this season. One being a rainy Thursday night game where he absolutely dominated just like he did against Texas. Hell, that's the game they take the video of him making a giant one armed tackle in his highlight reel.

Ingram has to be the automatic front runner heading into next season.

This could be the most serious threat to Archie's 2 time company we have seen for a very long time.

It can really be argued either way.

I look at it as the best player to help his team out the most, and without Mark Ingram, Bama doesn't go undefeated. Yes, I love Trent Richardson, and he's great, but Ingram carried that offense on his back, and took A LOT of pressure off of McElroy. I mean, the kid had over 1000 yards rushing after contact, which was majority of his overall yardage.

If Nebraska doesn't have Suh, they probably lose another game or two, and definitely don't have a chance to beat Nebraska.

That being said, I agree that Suh is the best player in the nation, overall, followed by Eric Berry, but Ingram's victory was quite warranted.

I don't see Ingram as a threat to Archie quite yet, if I remember right Bama will be young up front next year, could take a while to get him going

I thought Ingram should have finished fifth of the five that went to New York, the voters have a short memory (Auburn game). If you were voting for the best player (what itis supposed to be) then Suh would have won. My preference was Colt McCoy because he got screwed out of the win last year.

4. Tebow
5. Ingram

McCoy was not worthy, and Tebow certainly wasn't more worthy than Ingram.

I really wanted Suh or Gerhart, and after they announced Ingram I was a little upset. But after his speech, I became a big fan of his. Very humble and a classy kid. And it wasn't fake.

Agreed great kid, but probably not the best football player in America. But no use whining it's a done deal now, so congrats to Mark Ingram.

first of all,to say that any one of these candidates isn't worthy is ludicrous...one may be more deserving than the other,but it's all relative to who's doing the voting. IMO,they got it right,even though the person I was pulling for didn't get it--congrats again to Mark Ingram and 'Bama Nation!!!

I didn't want him to win, but after watching his acceptance speach I'm glad he did. seems like a great kid with a big heart.
