Why not apply for the head coaching job at the biggest school in Wayne County? If you land the job you work towards turning Wooster around while waiting for the Smithville job to become available. Great resume builder.
In my opinion the Wooster job is the best job in the county. I'm not sure who to give credit to for the Wooster youth league (I think it was Mike Baus) but it's great what they got going on there. Whoever becomes the next head coach at Wooster needs to assemble a good coaching staff that get's involved with the youth league and junior high team. Really get everyone of all ages to buy into what they are doing. If they can do that than Wooster is on the verge of greatness.
I love Smithville but Wooster has some much more potential to it than Smithville.
As far as I know there is no youth football league in Smithville.
We practiced on a crappy narrow field between the school, some pine trees and the baseball field.
When I played there the weight room and locker room combined was slightly smaller than the dining room and front part of Sams (although I hear the new facility is bigger).
The administration, superintendent, and principal were is.....I don't have to say anything about them lol. Maybe Brent didn't want to deal with them. I dunno.
Just because something is your dream job doesn't mean it's the best job for you. Kind of like how my dream car is a Venom GT but it'd be bad when I get on 30 west from Wooster and hit a deer while going 275 mph.
