It's been fairly impressive to watch him hold up his end of the agreement even when others haven't. I applaud him for his integrity in this matter; however, I think it would be difficult to coach there another year after all that has happened.

I would like to see him come back and coach. Out of pure spite for the administration if nothing else.

Coach Schrock is holding a meeting for the members of the 2011 team and their parents only on January 9, 2012.

Let the speculation begin.

but the board has already spoken....they weren't going to renew his contract in December and they won't do it now.

I don't buy the "we didn't know about this" story.

I just hope the fine folks of Smithville untangle this web and find the spider or spiders who spun it.

It's a tangled web and it seems to get more twisted everyday.
Now some inside sources seem to believe that Keib is just the fall guy. But others say that the kids didn't want him in the locker room because they knew he wanted to fire Schrock. I don't know what to think.
I'm leaning toward my original thought that they all need to go...board, super, and principal. That probably won't happen but if sombody doesn't go down then you can bet that they will play h@%L trying to pass a levy any time soon.
Hopefully Coach Schrock will tell all and hold nothing back next week. But something tells me that we will never know the whole truth.

I think it is pretty obvious that the administration wanted him out. I don't think the superintendent or the principle have a clue as to, how much the community loves Schrock. It has turned into a (cover your a**) kind of story, because everyone claims no knowledge of this situation. If the BOE and the Admins. are that clueless, they should not be in charge of a school district! I think the BOE and the Admins. all knew, what was going on and are too spineless to admit it! Once again, do you want these people running your district? I like the fact that Schrock called the meeting at a local church and not on school property! I also believe that, we, will be reading about Schrocks' retirement next week. The paper will run an article about this, but, Schrock will only clear up rumors and tell his side of the story, he won't sling mud.

Totally agree. No, I do not feel these people should be running our school. As I stated before, they screwed the public with the school plans etc. and they have no plans to ever listen to the people in the community. I think we will find that the super, principal and the board all knew and are at fault. I also agree Schrock is too classy to mud sling, but I hope he sets the record straight with truthes. Great move not meeting on school grounds.

Perhaps The DR can get an interview with Heidi....or she will come on here to let the cat out of the bag. Heidi may have a few things to say that Schrock wont!!!

Its a shame that the Schrock era has come to an end on such a sour note....Good luck in finding that new Coach...if he hasnt already been handed the keys.

I think I finally have a clearer understanding of what has happened. Out of both a lack of certainty and respect for some of those involved, I'll refrain from saying much, but I'll put it this way ...

Everyone involved at the administration level has failed at some level in this whole thing, but not all parties are equally guilty, and there are some in the administration that I might not mind keeping their positions.

Others, however, need ousted as soon as logistically possible.

I just heard from a reliable source that anybody who wants to go to the meeting is welcome if they want to hear Schrock's side of the story. I'm sure that just got AD and Plant quite excited, although I'm sure they probably already have a meeting scheduled with him as well. So, instead of reserving Sam's, why don't we have them cater in!?
