I took it as, you don't need two or three superstars, just draft correctly with your mid to late round picks. OKC also got lucky, very lucky. Portland passed on KD, and he struggled as a rookie (unlike GOATrie), which enabled them to be bad enough to get Westbrook, who struggled mightily as a rookie, which enabled them to get Harden. They drafted well, empowered their players, and got lucky in the draft. And they still haven't won shit. Just saying.

I agree, but just wanted it stated. The NBA is extremely hard to improve your team and you have to nail the draft IMO. I would think so, but nothing is set in stone. Look at the Charlotte Hornets in the early/mid 90s, the Shaq Magic teams, Utah Jazz, LBJ Cavs, Early 2000s Sac Kings teams. True..they may not win anything. I think Davis is still very raw offensively....and we have AV still.
But mostly, I think mkg is very explosive...just like his game

Care to expand? I didn't watch many UK games this season, only the last 2 in the tourney and a random couple during the year. He will be a glorified Marcus Camby at best. Which yeah is good, but not like everyone is predicting him to be. I just don't see him ever living up to his hype.
Of course, I could(and probably will) be wrong.

Anthony Davis just doesn't do it for me in the NBA. He just reminds me of Anthony Randolph, Brandan Wright, etc...
His offensive game is very raw and he's rail thin. IMO, we already have a lengthy shot blocker/rebounder in Tristan and he's a better 1-on-1 defender. He's also got better size in terms of muscle/strength.

Yeah he has guard skills for sure, but I question how skinny he is and how he will hold up. He is a defensive monster, but he will get shoved around in the NBA without getting calls. I could see Davis as a Marcus Camby in the league, shot blocker, rebounder, not a great scorer. Obviously he is young so he can improve that aspect of his game. Camby was a really good scorer in college and became a specialist mostly in the league.

How big was camby when he came out though? He was kinda skinny and id still bet he outweighed AD

Crazy thing is, every radio host or talking head that I hear....seems like it is a foregone conclusion that Davis will be the number one pick.
