He wouldn't be one of the top 10 hw employees by Zuffa right now
Barely beat Monson? Really?
KD Sig. Strikes Total Strikes Takedowns Passes
Emelianenko 2 50 of 131 38% 65 of 146 1 of 1 100% 2
Monson 0 5 of 25 20% 5 of 25 0 of 14 0% 0

Monson landed 5 strikes the entire fight. 5 strikes in three rounds and yet Fedor barely beat him?

Todd Duffee knocks out Neil Grove in under a minute at Super Fight League 2 in India, his first win in over 2 years. Would like to see him back in the UFC soon he has a ton of promise.

I personally think, at this time in their careers, that Mir would beat Fedor. However, it is asinine to say that Fedore barely beat Monson.

I like Monson but that was a beating.

To all you MMA fans-

Between these five, who's the GOAT of MMA?

Anderson Silva?
Georges St Pierre?
Randy Couture?
Matt Hughes?
Royce Gracie?

I'm wondering when each fighter was at their best, at their most successful weight class.
Who's the greatest of all time?

Yea, saw a cool preview special on Jon Jones working out with his brother, Ravens football player Arthur Jones.

I still put Royce Gracie above Silva just because some of those crazy fights where he was outweighed by over 100 pounds!

I disagree, the fight game is different now. St Pierre, who is Gracie's size, could NOT beat the top HWs right now. The level of competition is just way different.

I am a huge fan of Couture and Hughes, but I have to say Silva. He has not only dominated his division, but he has gone up a division and beat some top guys there, just not the top of the heap there. He also has been finishing top competition in his division.

Silva
GSP
Couture
Hughes
Gracie
IMO that order.

Silva and GSP now doing it in a time where fighters have never been more well rounded, with the next generation in Jon Jones of the world on their heels. The competition has never been better.

Couture was a pioneer and a guy versatile enough to evolve beyond ground and pound (guys like Coleman/Randleman/Kerr, etc...couldn't) and master things like dirty boxing and clinch work. Fought nothing but the best too, he was either fighting for a title for fighting for #1 status every fight damn near.

Hughes is just a tough ass farm boy. Had strength beyond those in his division. Great wrestling and developed pretty strong stand up as well as could submit if needed. Had a great run at a time the division was really evolving into what it is today.

Gracie put the sport on the map and popularized BJJ. Alot of his fights in the first couple UFC's were hand picked for him and the UFC was set up for him to win. But it worked and he also took guys out like Shamrock and Severn. Will always be the most popular pioneer!

Dan Henderson and Jake shields have both went up 2 weight classes and won. silva could have probably held multiple weight classes belts a couple years ago if the UFC would have let him

Anyone watch mma uncensored see the overeem interview. overeem refused to answer anything about his failed test and acted like nothing happened at all and would only talk about his fight with dos Santos

Afterwards quarry the host just roasted him talking about how his head put on 10 pounds in the last few years and that it was obvious he was a cheater. said he was living in a fantasy world thinking he would still get to fight

Stann looked beastly in his fight. If he worked on his ground game as much as they said he did, would love to see him have another chance at Sonnen.

Gustaffsson just picked Silva apart...looked like he was just toying with him. Kid is tough....just call him the white Jon Jones!

Card was great top to bottom. The Brad Pickett/Damacio Page fight was an instant classic. Paulo Thiago is a really good fighter and he got creamed in under a minute by that short right hand. I had heard Siyar Bahadurzada was a beast and he looked like it with that KO. Brian Stann has a great chin and power, I think Alessio Sakara is the better technically between the 2 but his chin seems to have disappeared. You can tell Gustafson trains at Alliance, because he fought very similarly to Dominick Cruz, great movement and feints. He fought more passively than I have ever seen him fight though. Thiago Silva just couldn't seem to find the range other than connecting hard a few times, surprised he didn't try to take the fight to the ground which is where Alexander is weakest.Oh and Diego Nunes got robbed, no way he lost that fight to Siver imo.

Not yet, but he has the raw talent to be up there with him. I meant more how he fights. If they fought right now then I think Jones would kill him, but maybe in a couple years it would be closer.

I think Gustaffsson would get taken down and dominated by Jones. He is young and certainly working his wresting, but Jones is younger and working just as hard. I don't think he will ever close the wrestling gap enough to beat him.

I agree 100% with this. Gustaffsson has a much better chance if he would drop to 185 and take on Silva in a year or so.

I would love to see him figt Bader next so we know where he is. This fight would help with the wrestling angle and give him someone in the top 10 to fight. I heard dana say he is training in vegas and cant find anyone to spar with because everyone is afraid of him.

Gustaffsson would get killed by Jones today. I want to see him fight some of the top guys at 205 before making a case at a title shot. I like the kid and his upside is huge but lets he how he does now with increased competition levels!
