If he hadn't gone for that arm bar and just ground and pounded he would have forced the ref to stop the fight. Rampage also has one of the best chins, Randy will not be able to take the shots that Rampage ate. As for those who are picking Randy, have you seen what Machida has done to wrestlers? People are saying that he can close the distance against Machida, how without eating a straight left or a crushing knee to the ribs? Machida is lightning fast and has unbelievable footwork due to his Karate stance. He also has an 84% take down defense ratio, he's damn near impossible to get ahold of and get down. Even is Randy somehow gets ahold of him and puts him against the cage what most people don't realize is that Machida has trained in sumo wrestling his whole life, he will trip Randy to the ground just like he did Tito, Sokoudju and Rampage. I'm sorry but I see no way Randy wins this fight although he will no doubtedly have a game plan and try and make it interesting.
First bold is possible but I think Randy could eat one or two straight lefts without getting rocked too bad so if he can grab a hold of Machida relatively quickly I think he could be okay.
The bolded I disagree with. Randy is a better wrestler than those three guys you mentioned put together.
Either way, Randy is smart enough to make this a chess match rather than a brawl. Unless of course Randy takes Machida down in which case he'll want a brawl.
Again, I'd still say Machida is likely to win but I don't see it as impossible for Randy to.
