No, but he should be.1_beast;1017035 wrote:Thom McDaniels is out as O Coordinator in Massillon....is he on the Smithville or Wooster wish list?
Here's my rumor of the day - Clan McCreary sniffing around Orrville for asst. coaching positions. Hilarious. They should take them. Orrville football's greatest asset. Just unbelievable.

If Haley is done coaching Bill would make a great DC in Orrville

He may not be on Smithville or Wooster's wish list, but being that he is a graduate of Orrville and the fact that we could use an offensive mindful individual on our staff...he is on MY Orrville wish list!1_beast;1017035 wrote:Thom McDaniels is out as O Coordinator in Massillon....is he on the Smithville or Wooster wish list?

Wooster may offer to cover half of the McCreary's paycheck if Orrville is willing to take them on board.

And a supply of red crocs. Didn't Devault get his first coaching gig under McCreary?CCRolly;1017190 wrote:Wooster may offer to cover half of the McCreary's paycheck if Orrville is willing to take them on board.
It all adds up. McCreary was an Orrville operative from day one. The Hamsher hire, their friendship.. I see it all now. Well played, Red Riders, well played.

Davault was hired by Gary Green I believe.
There will be ZERO McCrearys on Orrville's sidelines...now and forever! Unless they want to take over my fathers position firing off the canon!

So, Lichti will be your starting QB next season, thus not on the sidelines???????Old Rider;1017213 wrote:

It only took us 12 years to figure out this conspiracy. I feel like I woke up from the Matrix and everyone is wearing Red Riders gear.

Meh, it's like being released from prison, you don't have a job or even a place to live, but you are happy to be out and optimistic about the future. Sure, chances are you are going to mess up again and end up back in the joint, but for a few fleeting moments the world is your oyster.Old Rider;1017309 wrote:I love reading about all the confidence the Wooster faithful have now, but you don't even have a coach!

Released from the prison of suckitude that was the McCreary regime. Honestly, no coaching was probably preferable to the quality of coaching those poor kids got.THE4RINGZ;1017347 wrote:Meh, it's like being released from prison, you don't have a job or even a place to live, but you are happy to be out and optimistic about the future. So did McCreary "under-achieve" in the Wooster faithful's minds when he had Meenan, Gantz, and those guys?

I think the under achieving was more of a gradual decline. I think the more Mike got comfortable at Wooster the less he was involved.

Those guys won in spite of the lackluster coaching. Period.

I still debate what was McCreary's worst attribute, laziness or denseness. He just seemed to put the minimal effort into everything. So many examples.. Wouldnt consider participating in football camps for his coaches or players, notorious for slowness in getting back to recruiters, couldnt force him at gunpoint to a junior high or peewee game, never spoke at any service organizations, never did fundraising, was ambivalent about participation, unprofessional appearance...these are things even a losing coach can still do.
I can tell you the younger guys in the program are excited about the change because they only knew him by his record. He had zero involvement in lower level development. You reap what you sew, no loyalty because youre a complete stranger.

Honest question here..Does McCreary have children in the Wooster School District? Boys? Girls?
Im sure if he does, they will be good athletes. Therefore move to Orrville (don't even think about coaching though) and enroll your children at Orrville and get your son a D1 scholarship!

Honestly, I can't say whether or not McCreary is a good coach. I will say however, I don't think bad coaches can win conference championships in a league like the OCC, regardless of who they have. What did Mike win, 2?
Anyway, the thing that just completely caught me off guard. I remember one time seeing Wooster at a passing camp at Cloverleaf 2 summers ago. This was when Stu Turner would have been going into his JR year. There had been rumblings and everyone had known that he was going to Orrville by that point. Even people that aren't in either community and it had been confirmed on here. Well anyway, some of us spoke to Coach McCreary and asked him if it sucked losing Stu and what was going on with that, because he wasn't there. The assistants as well as him said that Stu wasn't there because he was at a college recruiting camp, when in fact, he had attended Orrville's position camp all week! That kind of disconnect just can't be good for a program.

I have coached some of these younger kids in a different sport and have seen first hand what they are capable of (both physical and mentally) with the right leadership. That is why I am optimistic and excited about the future of Wooster football.
