because you love sports and nothing else will be on

You will watch....quit lying.

These are the two best teams......playing an ugly game earlier has no bearing on these two being the best two teams.

You'll watch the spectacle.

who cares what people watch? i don't need entertainment and the justification of others to get satisfaction out of a sports game. my family and life on lake michigan gives me the ultimate satisfaction, as this is just a game.

OSU/Michigan were the two best teams (supposedly). If that game simply had a rematch we would have never known any different.

I agree with the fact that I'll watch the game.

However, there is absolutely no way to say whether or not these are the two best teams. They appear to be the two best teams, but that doesn't mean much (Ohio State & Michigan looked to be the best two in '06 and clearly were not). There is no way to prove who the two best teams are when teams from different conferences play entirely different schedules. I think these are the two best teams, but I don't think Alabama's resume is any more impressive than Oklahoma States, so why not give a shot to the team that hasn't played LSU yet. I would be much more excited to watch a LSU/Oklahoma State matchup, than this rematch...

You could make that argument almost any year. Even a playoff wouldn't prove it. Stop being a bitch

The thread was started for all the hard-asses who love college football but won't be watching a rematch of the best team and the team that did everything but beat them. I say 3/4 of those who say they aren't watching will be.

As for the two best? LSU is the best team.....Alabama or OK State is next...OK State has better wins but a far worse loss. I believe if Alabama and OK State were both undefeated that Bama would be above them.

OK State had the game....Bama was behind them and they get upset by a slightly above average Iowa State team. Bama lost to the best team in OT.

No one supports a playoff more than I do....but I'm not missing a National Championship game because OK State is also worthy.

....nor is it going to ruin my day.

West Virginia over Boise is a bigger flaw.

I said I won't be watching...and I won't.

I don't have any cable or television channels, that's one reason. Reason two, I will probably have class. Reason three, boring.

I agree you can..but in most years the bcs does a good job of finding the 2 most deserving. How am I being a bitch exactly?

Lol. Internet tough guy much?

I agree a playoff isn't the end all be all of postseason play and certainly isn't flawless. But it does give a much better indication of who the best teams are than the system we have now. With how regional college football is and the lack of common opponents between teams from difference conferences, its the only system that makes sense.

But this has been debated so many times on this site. As long as people keep tuning in to watch the bowls, the system won't change because there is no incentive to do so. Doesn't make it better than a playoff system though.

Huge sports fan, but I'd rather not waste my time watching a game when I know who is going to win, especially if I dont care about either team.

Ha! No, just don't want to spend the money for any cable/dish.

We have HuluPlus, but until sports are visible through it or other places other than cable/dish, I won't be watching live sporting events at my home. I do get to watch some online, if I want. Or, I can stay at work and watch some things on WatchESPN. But that's about the extent of it unless we go out to a sports bar or friends house. The BCS NCG isn't worth spending money at a sports bar on. Nor is it a "get together" game with friends.
