Now to talk football....kinda, I think Rittman may be golden this week...but its hard to tell trying to sort through all the picks...we cant talk football without being interupted by picks.

So Reddummy...I'll again start a thread for this weeks picks...

follow suite next week

I will find out for you. You want the Waynedale game don't you? That will not start for a while yet, that I am sure.

Thanks for the welcome back, beast. It's that time of year again! The boys of fall, my boys of fall, are back in business! Even as a youngster I always liked football, but watching my boys I've learned to love it and understand it so much better. Four years experience watching the LB position and now my youngest on the O-line, who knew he'd be bigger than the brother? My Friday nights and Saturdays are taken this time of year!
But enough proud mom stuff.
I've been on about a week, but was just reading to get my sea legs back under me on here....must say I had to wash my eyes out with soap after logging out a couple times! But you guys are mostly good eggs and I enjoy the banter.
I don't do the multiple quoting cause I just don't take the time to figure it out. So I'll try to remember all the posts I wanted to comment on.
I'm thinking Dalton will be better this year. Two decent QB's who can be switched out to their strengths, great senior leadership, lots of juniors getting lots of experience, and some great underclassmen contributing. I like Moyer much better as a running back, though he gets much respect for his work last year. I say they improve their record by at least one win, two would be better. I
I like how we looked at Garaway in the first half, which was all I saw due to complications. Pass protection was there, line was opening up lanes for backs....would like to hear more from those who saw second half about what happened.
Someone mentioned JV teams fielded. Dalton did play a JV game Saturday, lost 20-18 I believe? That shows promise. Only 18 kids on JV team though...but that's been Dalton a few years now.
I say Norwayne and Hillsdale will be 1-2 this year, seems pretty obvious. Rittman and Chipps still occupying the bottom, but improving. Hoping the Dawgs won't be rubbing shoulders down there, but we'll see.
Panther, will miss you on the fence to chat with this year.
Beast, I finally figured out over the summer who you are, we have a facebook friend in common. I will have to reread Dorksen for the 'outing'!
Hooray! It's football season! GO Bulldogs!

@bobcat = it is a two way street between both the players and coaches. If it was only athletes then why do we even need the coaches? With that said the athletes at norwayne can come along with your coaches I know it would help our record over the past several years!

I never said anything about the coaches leaving all i said was I and alot of other fans did not like their antics on the sidelines Friday night. They tell the players to act with class and they cant practice what they preach, it was uncalled for to act that way. I know that yelling and acting crazy as a coach happens in football, but not on the side lines and diffently not at some little ball boy who is in "7th Heaven" because he is standing with the big boys on Game Day!!!!!....Do it in the locker room or do it at practice but not out in front of everybody, get your point across and be done with it. I am really surprised that the ball boys father didnt come down and take care of it.

Is it just one coach or were they all doing it? Coaching philosophy shouldn't change just because you won a title last year. I guess what I am saying is...it sounds like the coach's were deliberately trying (maybe, I don't know I was not there) to prove that "their" team will not lose focus this season and that "us" coach's will not be out coached or our kids will not look unprepared becasue we are the defending state champs. It was week one and plenty of mistakes are expected.

As for yelling at a ball boy...really? Dad should've spoke up. However, I have seen too many times when the ball boys are just a little too young and it ends up being play time on the sidelines and the coaches are yelling for water or a new ball!

i was not there so I have no idea of what happened. was only responding to comments made that seemed out of place. i was too busy watching our young men fight a remarkable battle and come up short yet again. one day soon the tide will turn (i hope)!
