10. Roger Staubach - b/c of Navy commitment, started NFL at age 27. Made Cowboys great.
9. Dan Marino - Best pure passer of all time. Would be higher with a SB.
8. Tom Brady - 3 championships. Great football even without great supporing cast.
7. John Elway - Best combo of big powerful runner and cannon for an arm.
6. Brett Favre - Holds all records. Won 1 SB. Starting every game over 4 presidential administrations.
5. Peyton Manning - Even if never plays again, smartest football player ever. Crappy Colts without him shows how good he is.
4. Johnny Unitas - 1958 Championship game catapulted NFL into prominence. Tremendous thrower, great brain.
3. Joe Montana - Always knew which guy was going to be open. Average arm, but was never fooled, and a winner with limited physical tools.
2. Sammy Baugh - No records, or greatness. Greater thrower when NFL wasn't a passing league (1940s). Versatility unmatched in NFL history. Led NFL in punting, passing, and as interceptions as a defensive back in one season. Greatest season ever by a player.
1. Otto Graham. Short career, but 7 league championships. Lost in championship game in other 3 years. Highest rated passer in 4 of 10 years. Greatest winner at the position of all time.

I have trouble saying the guys in the 40's and 50's were better as there was only 1/3 as many teams....or less.

Consider championships and longevity as you wish.....but Steve Young is somewhere in the top 10 and Manning 5 spots above Brady is laughable.

John Elway was Brett Farve when Farve should've retired but with 5 Super Bowl appearances instead of 2 and 2 rings instead of one....they were the same damn player except Elway was smarter and played fewer seasons.

Surprised he didn't find a way to put Namath on there.....since his Baugh at #2 reasoning sucked.

Best QB not mentioned....Warren Moon? Bradshaw? Tarkenton? Fouts? Brees will be considered when he's done. Warner?

How so? Manning has had way better recievers overall and RB's, played in a dome for all his home games( no weather conditions affecting him) and Brady has 3 Super Bowl wins to Mannings 1.

That's like saying Star Wars is the #2 movie of all-time because the special effects were amazing for the 1970s. Guess what? Every single movie out today has better special effects.

Eh, I haven't ever put much stock in awards....especially since mo Vaughn won mvp over Albert. Anyhow, I think if favre walked away at the right time....then he is in the discussion. But his later years were known as a circus and sometimes throwing costly picks. You have to take that into account.

I am with you on this one. He has more picks than anyone els ever so no way can he be top 10. Also his team was the best team in the NFL for at least 4 years and they only won one Superbowl because of his need to try and make every throw and end up with critical interceptions. If he had any control at all he could have been the best ever but those interceptions will always tarnish his reputation IMO.

Don't you think that is because he played so long and didn't miss any games? To say Favre isn't top 10 is just foolish.
Take a look at Marion's stats in the playoffs he is average at best in the playoffs.

You forgot the more important aspect when it comes to winning championships: Brady's teams actually had a good defense.

Also Brady had Randy Moss, clearly the best overall receiver of either quarterback (and yes that includes Marvin Harrison, who I don't think would've been nearly as good without Manning throwing him the ball. Same goes for Reggie Wayne.)

Amazing how Harrison, Wayne, Collie, Tamme, Clark, Stokley, etc all were plugged into the offense and succeeded.

I dont care about titles when it comes to this level. Manning is not a better QB if the Saints dont recover the onside kick. He is just as good. Brady is not worse if there was no tuck rule. He is the same. Manning is better.

He had Moss for 2 years and was not on any of the 3 Super Bowl wins. Now name his recievers in the 3 Super Bowls without looking it up.
