Either way, someones going to be mad and complaining. The OSU coach should of gave an argument for his team instead of saying Bama is better and deserves the chance.

Does it help OSU that VT lost and Houston lost? And does it hurt that Iowa State lost to KSU?

How could anyone still think Alabama deserves to get in over OSU?

I think it helps that va tech is losing and Houston. I don't think it really matters about the Iowa st game cause it boasted ksu recorded who osu beat

Perhaps slightly, what helps OSU is that no one outside of turncoat Gary Danielson wants to see another Bama-LSU snoozefest. OSU won their conference. Bama didn't. Bama had the opportunity to beat LSU, and didn't. OSU deserves the chance.

It definitely helps about VT because they were #3 and 4 in the human polls while OSU was #5 I believe. I'm not sure whether OSU was expected to jump them with a win, but now there's no doubt.

But since the human component is 2/3 of the total, unless OSU jumps Bama in at least one of them there's basically no way they can finish #2.

Gary Danielson made a comment during the game today that got me thinking. He seems to think that LSU would deserve a share of the national championship, even if they lost to Alabama in a rematch. I see what he's saying in that it would be 1-1 between the two teams, but what's really the point? I think Bama is the second best team in the nation, but I'm beginning to agree with this school of thought...they had their chance to beat LSU at home and didn't do it. Give someone else a shot.

Record: 11-1 vs. 11-1
Good wins: (10-2) Arkansas, (9-3) Penn State vs. (9-3) Oklahoma, (10-2) Kansas State, (9-3) Baylor
Loss: (13-0) LSU vs. (6-6) Iowa State

How could anyone think it's that definitive one way or the other?

"Gary Danielson made a comment during the game today that got me thinking. He seems to think that LSU would deserve a share of the national championship, even if they lost to Alabama in a rematch."

Gary Danielson likely pleasures himself in the SEC headquarters with Slive looking on. The guy crapped his credibility back in '06 with the ridiculous begging for Florida - between that and Joe Buck's ridiculous overreaction to the Randy Moss fake mooning incident in Green Bay, I'm not sure which is the most shameful moment of football announcing in modern history. Mike Patrick's Brittney Spears' comment is a distant third.

They lost in OT, on a Friday night in a hostile environment on the day after the school lost some of its coaches in plane.

Trust me, I hate Danielson. My point was, why have a rematch when there's the possibility that it would basically accomplish nothing. Of course, LSU could beat them again and then people would say, "Maybe Oklahoma State would have got them". But if Bama were to beat LSU, there would be no definitive champion.

If you give Oklahoma State the chance, then there's no chance that LSU and Bama are tied 1-1 and we're left arguing about which one of them is better.

It's stupid that we have to have this conversation anyway, but this is hand we're dealt right now.
