So has LBJ, just because he gets flashy blocks. He doesnt play more than average on ball defense. Theres plenty of wings who D up better than LBJ but he still makes the team

I think Kobe is a good defender when he wants to be. That has nothing to do with this conversation, though.

Sure. Translation, "you're a idiot". Mo Williams can not play the 2 guard just because he shoots a decent percentage from the 3. He'll get killed by good SGs as he doesn't have the size, shot making ability, skill, length, without the ball movement to play a decent 2 guard. He can spot up around the 3 pt line and knock down an open look. On the defensive side he's an even bigger liability. He's a terrible defender at the PG spot and truly pathetic at the SG. Again like I and many other posters have stated which you ignore, he would get killed on defense at the 2 spot. Imagine him trying to guard Kobe, Eric Gordon, Dwayne Wade, Mayo, etc...they all have size on him and would score at will. And your fantasy idea of CP3 moving to the 2 spot on defense is laughable. CP3 doesn't have the defensive ability to do it, nor the size. Like HB stated, he plays passing lanes well, but on the ball defender he leaves a lot to be desired.

He has the tools to be an elite defender. But an elite defender who has like 8 inches on another player doesnt let said player light him up (Jason Terry)

How do you know he never guards anyone who can actually score except for a few possessions here and there.

whether on ball or not, COA called Chris Paul an average defender, which is not even close to being accurate.

If you guys says people like Lebron and CP3 aren't good defenders, I'd really like to see who you think are good defenders.

No, I didn't watch the games. I am just going on his Cleveland days. I agree with others that he had the tools, but he is lazy.

Game 4. 23-6
game 5. 25-8-5

He did a decent job, but id hardly call that great defense

He will argue whatever I say. It's comical. Paul is the 2nd best defensive PG in the NBA and can easily slide over to guard a 2 guard. It's not even up for debate. He's proven it.

For short periods of time if he WANTS he can be a great on ball defender. But more times than not he doesnt even try, he just goes for steals and weak side blocks.
