Probably won't know the whole story ever, but FWIW he said there were no other discussions and his mind was already made up for Notre Dame. I'm just glad Notre Dame offered his dad enough money to make a difference.

I'd guess probably start off at WR and return kicks.

In all seriousness, I hope that this was what Davonte' wanted--he's the one that'll have to go to class and produce on the field, not daddy.

Time will tell, but it still sucked big time what the two of them did to the kids and staff of that grade school this morning--classless move no matter how you look at it

Neal is going around to each classroom in the building and apologizing to the teachers/students. Horrible kid. LOL

I agree it was pretty shitty of him. He could have at least showed up and said he is sorry but he wants a few hours to clear his head. I have a feeling his dad had something to do with it also

Damage control doesn't excuse their actions. Why did they blow it off in the first place?

no doubt about it, which is a whole nuther problem unto itself...hopefully once the kid gets some separation from his old man he'll be ok

I do know from experience how much pressure it can be. I got a couple letters of interest from Akron and bg. And I was all set to go to Akron and walk on before I got a call from mt union. But when I went on a visit I knew no doubt I wanted to go there but I still didn't know if I made the right decision until I was actually at fall camp. It all didn't work out for personal reasons but it was still a lot of pressure

I'm sure he is concerned with whether or not you excuse his actions. As long as he makes it right with the elementary school, which he is doing to the best of his ability, why would it matter to you?

Obviously the whole thing this morning was handled really really badly. Again, no one will ever know the reason why he didn't show up, he said it was a family issue. Its over with and I'd guess the students are already over it and on to thinking about what video game they are going to play when they get home from school.

I'm not a fan of what happened today at all and I am concerned that this kid and his Dad might turn out to be a pain in the ass. That being said, what else are we supposed to do as fans now that he chose ND? Root against the kid and/or the team? Now that he has committed to ND, you just hope that he's not the drama problem that it appears he may be.

But I know that there have been HS kids that looked like drama but were highly touted and the fans of those schools welcomed them to their fave team with open arms despite some less-than-admirable behavior during the recruitment. My apologies for bringing OSU into this but it's not that different from the hating on Urban Meyer for different things and then being thrilled to have him as coach. Or the Pryor drama/behavior during recruiting.

I said it when OSU hired Urb...most fans of any school/team in that position would do the same thing. You may not have liked him and what he did when he was elsewhere...but all is forgiven when he coaches/plays for your team. That's just how most fans are.

Why should you care what my feelings are on this, and feel the need to comment on it, unless of course it's just another way to up your post count. Yup, that must be it.
