Some positive rumblings about Arik Armstead...

I'll remain pessimistic on that one.

Yeah not too likely. Brey deserves coach of the year IF he pulls it off though.

Right now, it looks like Arik Armstead is open to any school that will allow him to play two sports in college. You see, aside from being a dominating trench player, Armstead is also a very good big man on the basketball court.
The latest with him, per his father Guss, is that Arik really wants to play both football and basketball in college.
If the Irish are cool with that, then they're still in this thing, but if Brian Kelly objects, look for Armstead to move on from ND.

If he early enrolls, he would be eligible to play basketball as early as 12/27 of THIS YEAR. Brey is visiting him today or tomorrow I think.

The thought up him suiting up this winter is pretty unreal. haha

Would he count against both basketball and football scholarships?

He would be on a basketball scholarship until he plays in a football game. It would switch over and count against the 85 limit then.

The whole family was impressed that Brey had a game in Maryland the day before and flew out the next day to meet with them. They also like that ND was the first school to suggest he plays bball this year (other schools have also started saying he could play there early). It was a good visit overall.

Gunner Kiel, Davonte Neal, Josh Garnett, Ronnie Stanley, and Schyler Miles are visiting this weekend for the Awards Show. Miles is looking for an offer and is the teammate of Nelson Agholor.
