I think Richt is using A&M for leverage with UGA. Even with Texas recruits, I don't see how this is anything more than a lateral move at best for him. Recruiting the state of Texas isn't going to be any easier as a member of the SEC. UT is ALWAYS going to be #1 down there regardless of the conference A&M is in and they will continue to compete for recruits against LSU, Tech, an auto-BCS TCU, Oklahoma, and OK State. Anyone ever been to College Station,Texas? If I were a 5* recruit in the state of Texas that didn't grow up rooting for a specific school and I was being recruited by LSU, Texas, Georgia, and A&M, A&M would be my last choice. By far, unless they had a phenomenal coach. Mark Richt is not that coach.

Losing Beckman hurts but the interim Head Coach Matt Campbell has been rated the top recruiter in the MAC for the past 2 or 3 years. I really am hoping that we consider keeping Coach Campbell full time.
