No, I changed my view on him. He is a great coach, congrats.

Haha what?!

When did I say he was a good caoch? I just find it incredibly retarded to bash on a school like Akron for hiring someone lol they could literally hire my next door neighbor and I wouldn't care, because it's Akron and I don't give a shit

If you really think I "read only Pro-Akron sources and LJ" then idk what to tell you

Innovative nickname you have there for him. Its bad when you have Pick6 and LJ going along with you and use like_that and COA nicknames. You forgot to say you pwn'd me though.

Either way, I really like the hire for Akron and expect big things from them soon.

Whoa whoa whoa. I never said that I think he will be great there, not did I ever say that they will do great or big things. I just think it's a solid hire for an ailing program that needs to be competitive and needs wins.

Bowden will do a great job, maybe get them to an seven or eight win season... but he will not be coaching there after three years.

Not sure I've ever typed out "pwn'd"

These aren't like_that and COA nicknames (whatever the fuck that means lol), I simply added douche at the end of jordo

Yeah no one said they expected big things from him...I don't even have an opinion on the hire...like I said, I could care less, it's Akron.

One of the posts I saw elsewhere regarding the Bowden hire...

a) Bowden will accept about anything as a transfer/recruit, regardless of the baggage
b) Akron will accept anything with a pulse as a student

So until they get hit with NCAA violations and/or the entire team is academically ineligible, it should be a pretty damn good fit

I doubt the NCAA is going to be breathing down Akron's neck ;)

I think Bowden is a good hire for Akron, as he at least brings a name and a winning track record with him.

Don't know where else to put this.. but the Zips are hiring Chuck Amato as the DC. Also stealing Terrel Buckley (S&C coach) from FSU to come here as the DB coach.

Wondered where Amato has been since NC State so did some googling and I guess he has had throat cancer since '09(right after Jimbo Fisher told him he wasnt being retained to the FSU staff with Bobby Bowden leaving) and out of football. Hope to see good things from the Zips!

Akron makes another hire. Mike Woodford, former DB coach for Florida and Illinois is coming here to be the safeties coach.

So far the staff is:
Terry Bowden- HC/OC
Chuck Amato- DC
John Pont- Probably LB coach
Terrell Buckley- CB Coach
Mike Woodford- Safeties coach
Todd Stroud- DL coach
Probably Jeff Bowden as the WR coach

Pretty solid staff coming together for a MAC school.
