I want Alabama just because of the head explosion it would cause for the anti-SEC guys I know. I want Oklahoma State because I like Gundy and prefer high-powered offense as a means of entertainment (even though LSU would likely shut them completely down).
But if I had a vote that counted, I'd go by the overall resume, considering the following (assuming all current one loss teams win out....and even accounting for an LSU loss):
Overall Record of Opponents Beaten:
1. LSU 82-60
2. Oklahoma State 73-56
3. Virginia Tech 70-60 (79-64 if they beat Clemson, but they've also lost already to Clemson)
4. Alabama 69-61
5. Stanford 60-73 - Just throw them out right now, that is pathetic
Toss out non-BCS schools for Overall Record of Teams Beaten:
1. Oklahoma State 61-48
2. LSU 70-59
3. Alabama 51-45
4. Virginia Tech 42-42 (51-46 w/Clemson in the ACC title game)
Best win:
1. LSU - Alabama 11-1
2. Alabama - Arkansas 10-2
3. Oklahoma State - Oklahoma 9-3
4. Virginia Tech - 8-4 GT/Virginia (or 9-4 Clemson in the ACC title game)
Wins Over Winning Teams (BCS schools only):
1. LSU - 5 (3 or 4 with 9+ wins)
2. Oklahoma State - 5 (2 or 3 with 9+ wins)
3. Alabama - 3 (2 with 9+ wins)
4. Virginia Tech - 3 or 4 (0 with 9+ wins)
Least Bad Loss (by Team):
1. Alabama - LSU 12-1
2. LSU - Georgia 11-2
3. Virginia Tech - Clemson 9-4
4. Oklahoma State - Iowa State 6-5
Least Bad Loss by Margin:
1. Alabama -3
2. Oklahoma State -6
3. Virginia Tech -20
LSU - doesn't even matter at this point
LSU has easily the best resume already and a loss to Georgia won't change that. Virginia Tech shouldn't even be in the conversation in my mind because they need an extra game to get above .500 against reasonable competition and they lost by 3 TDs at home. Oklahoma State seems to have beaten better teams overall than Alabama and I give more weight to that than comparing one loss. If Oklahoma State loses to Oklahoma, I think Alabama is a no-brainer, but is the Cowboys win, I'd vote them over Alabama.
