My girlfriend got a free ticket to the Twilight movie courtesy of her friends for the midnight viewing last night. This was the first time she ever saw one of the Twilight movies in theaters. I got a phone call from her on my lunch break at about 2:30 am telling me how creepy the vibe was in the theater. Obviously my initial reaction was to laugh since she certainly should have seen an odd bunch of fanatics in the audience coming during a midnight release but I guess things got pretty interesting. According to her when the protagonist and the vampire had sex, the entire audience, even a few of her friends, started clapping uncontrollably and almost a quarter of the whole movie theater was then crying. WTF! I've seen my fair share of movies but I've never heard of anything like this. Also considering the trigger to this unwavering happiness from the crowd of preteen - elderly women, how creepy is this situation?
