As far as declining a bowl bid - no way. If there is one thing this Ohio State team needs, it's more practice. Going to a bowl game gives you 3-6 weeks of extra practice, much of which is spent on the basics. tOSU would accept a bowl bid even if they lost money (very unlikely) for this factor alone.
Normally, I'd agree with you. However, since the practices would come with this coaching staff I'm afraid that might do more harm than good in the long run.
I'd prefer OSU did not end up in a bowl game BUT that would mean either (1) they lose out and there's not enough slots, which is very unlikely, OR the NCAA comes down with a bowl ban. I certainly don't want that, if for no other reason than I don't believe it's warranted given the circumstances.
