Penn State is garbage, OSU will beat them. Our run defense will easily stop Denard.

^^ This. At 6-6, Ohio State will get a mid-to-lower tier bowl game simply because of the size of our fan base and the $$ they'll bring to the hosting city.

As far as declining a bowl bid - no way. If there is one thing this Ohio State team needs, it's more practice. Going to a bowl game gives you 3-6 weeks of extra practice, much of which is spent on the basics. tOSU would accept a bowl bid even if they lost money (very unlikely) for this factor alone.

The only B1G team I see losing in these matchups is Michigan State in a close one.

I like Toledo over Illinois (but I'm a little biased)

That'd be a coin flip that I'm hoping falls on the side of the B1G.

Normally, I'd agree with you. However, since the practices would come with this coaching staff I'm afraid that might do more harm than good in the long run.

I'd prefer OSU did not end up in a bowl game BUT that would mean either (1) they lose out and there's not enough slots, which is very unlikely, OR the NCAA comes down with a bowl ban. I certainly don't want that, if for no other reason than I don't believe it's warranted given the circumstances.

I think Pinkel was a GREAT coach at Toledo and had some success at Mizzou, but I think his best days are over. I don't want him at OSU personally.

Why would you prefer OSU not go to a bowl game? Even if this staff was the ones coaching, they could still use the reps. It is always good for your team to get some exposure in a bowl game.

You realize that every single coach on this staff minus Vrabel was a position coach for Tressel right? Whilethe lack of Tressel's oversight may not allow for as much personal position growth as there should be, there is absolutely no reason that a few weeks of practice for this young team would cause any harm.

Personally I'd love to see an Ohio vs. Ohio State match-up in a bowl game even if it's an irrelevant Astro-Tiddly Winks Bowl. It may not get much attention out of state but Ohio would have fun with it.
