This game cost Boise about $10M or more in bowl winnings. They'll go from getting $17M in a BCS bowl to playing in a game like the Poinsetta Bowl or something for $1M.

If Stanford continues to get throttled by Oregon, we're almost assuredly looking at 3 possible outcomes for the BCSNG.

LSU/Oklahoma State
LSU/Alabama
Alabama/Oregon State

Oregon, Oklahoma and Arkansas are on the outside looking in. Stanford would also be in that group with a loss, but would be no better than 7th IMO.

Does this propel Houston into the BCS conversation? Right now, they were 11th. You have to figure they crack the top 10 this week as Boise drops.

5. Boise State is going to drop
6. Oklahoma still plays at Oklahoma State
7. Oregon still has to beat Stanford
8. Arkansas plays at LSU
9. Clemson plays South Carolina and Virginia Tech in the ACC Title game
10. Virginia Tech plays Clemson in the ACC Title game

Houston should go 13-0, and they might just get into that "top 6" non-BCS automatic bid.

Holy crap! 2-8 Oregon State can still make the BCS championship game!?

Everybody that loves college football should be rooting hard for the Cowboys. I couldn't stand to watch a rematch of a boring ass game as the National Championship Game...it reminded me of a pro game.

People who don't know what they are talking about should keep their mouths shut. BSU did not lose that much money by losing today. With merchandising from making a BCS bowl Boise lost probably about $4 million today.

Haha yeah, I guess I threw an extra "State" onto the end of that topic...either way.

Either way, Houston still at 11th. Don't see them getting much higher than that if they haven't passed a few teams by now.

Houston will probably sneak into the top 10 by the end of the year, but I don't see them getting much higher than that

houston against alabama in the sugar bowl would certainly be interesting contrast in styles to say the least

It'd be a repeat of what Bama did to Michigan State last season.

You don't think it could be a repeat of what Utah did to Alabama?

Probably could, but highly doubtful.

I think it could catch Bama off guard. They don't play a lot of pass-happy teams.

Boise actually saved money by losing Saturday.

I won't mention the irony of your post.

Actually they only saved money IF they make the move to the Big East. We were only discussing the amount of money they would make in bowl revenue, not bowl revenue plus a payout for leaving the MWC. According to that article their share of conference bowl money would have been $7 million if they had made a BCS bowl, and $1.9 million if they didn't. By my math that means they lost $5 million losing on Saturday, which is much closer to the $4 million number I estimated versus the $10 million or more figure Little Danny estimated.
