Losing Lighty and Diebs is going to hurt as well. Need somebody to pick up that jump shooting slack.

Wasn't overly impressed with Lenzelle Smith, there is a reason he only played sparingly last season. (Thomas played much more and wasn't great).

The team should win a Big 10 title, or at least compete for one. But this is not a national championship contender as it currently stands.

I think I will save my judgement until after the Florida game. I was at the game and they definitely came out flat, maybe it was first game jitters or maybe they had a tough time getting up for Wright State. I expect a much better effort on Tuesday night

I thought Smith played pretty well. He's very good on the defensive end, he's a good rebounder, and he did hit a couple outside shots.

Jesus, relax. OSU is playing A LOT of young guys. Its going to take some time for them to buy into things, to gel, to learn how to play at this level on a consistant basis. This game was a crappy game..mainly because the freaknig officials called everything. There was no flow to this game at all. I didn't recognize these officials, so I assume they were not big time officials. Some of the calls, both ways, were ridiculous. They were not allowing any kind of physicallity at all, which completely disrupted the flow of the game.
But again, its going to take this team some time to get things together. Last years game was experienced and clicking from day one. This team is a work in progress. But they are VERY, VERY talented. Tomorrows game should be interesting.

I agree. It is early and they said on the radio that everybody is a little rough right now, including UNC.

I was just disappointed at how little Thomas had progressed. He was still showing extremely poor shot selection and his defense remains questionable at best.

This team is obviously very talented. Which is why I said I see them competing for Big 10 title.

I dont see this being a race OSU will win the B1G by 3 games or more. MSU/Wisconsin/Michigan/Purdue will all have 5+ loses, imo. Maybe one will surprise and only lose like 3. But I cant see OSU losing more than 2 games in conference. Too many down teams, makes some road games a lot easier than in years past.

I read somewhere the other the day, where the "expert" said the B1G could be the 2nd best conference in the country, but honestly, I don't see how that's remotely possible. I really don't see anyone other than OSU, Wisky, and maybe MSU having any impact nationally.

I agree. And MSU and Wisconsin are more because they are always there, not because of what they have on the roster so much. UofM I would be really high on, but their PG is in the NBA. Purdue, I dont care what anyone says, they are gonna struggle without Moore and Johnson. Id say 5th place finish for them, with a chance at 5.

Indiana, Iowa, Northwestern, Minnesota, Penn St, Nebraska are going to do nothing.

Illinois is a wild card, but not going to be a top 10 team. They may have a decent showing as a conference, but they really only have 1 top team.
