All the credit goes to the Bobcats for excellent execution of their gameplan. The Riders just tried to be too much of a passing team tonight. Good luck next week Norwayne. We'll be rooting for you all the way.

I'm sure they spent a lot of time with Coach Vic Whiting from Northwest on how to gameplan for us.

wow thats all thats on my mind right now!

first off i have never seen a game plan that bad out of orrville yet any team for that matter! you have mason monheim! a D1 recruit and a line that is bigger than norwaynes so why didnt orrville use that to their advantage and pound the ball down norwaynes throut! instead it was brenner running for his life then heaving a pass from his back foot!

orrvilles coaches should be fired after tonight! you just got outcoached by a bunch of twenty year olds that dont have much playoff coaching experience!

Mason had an injury to his shoulder that happened last week....I'm sure that is why he wasn't in the gameplan as much on offense. Still very odd gameplan. It comes down to execution, and Norwayne executed....we didn't. Pretty simple.

Also, even the best coaches have bad games....I witnessed the Big Red/Mooney game last night, and even the hall of fame coach Reno for Big Red had a terrible game calling plays. Probably the worst game I have seen when it comes down to third down play calls. Saying that, Coach Davault and his staff have done a great job with our young men coaching them things beyond football....life! Tonight is just a great opportunity to teach those life lessons.

Orrville fans...that's what having a Bill McCreary led defense feels like. Try thinking how that must feel for 10 weeks straight! In all seriousness, congrats to Norwayne...you guys are the real deal.

Norwayne dominated this game in every aspect of the game (except maybe punting). I think the Bobcats had a LOT more speed than the Red Riders (and many fans who hadn't seen them play, like me) thought they did. Orrville has speed, but Norwayne matched them step-for-step all night, containing Turner, Brenner, and Monheim, very rarely letting them get to the corner. Norwayne finished with over 400 yards of offense. Wow! Orrville got down a score of two, and they panicked and went away from the run... but I'm sure part of that was because they just couldn't run on Norwayne. But it was a 2-score game in the middle of the 2nd half with plenty of time, and they never really tried to run the rest of the game... just lobs into a very good Norwayne secondary.

After Norwayne's first 3-and-out where Wallace threw the ball into the dirt, I thought that maybe this was too big of a stage for Norwayne... and they were quickly down 6-0. However, after each team had 1 possession, the game was completely 100% Norwayne. Never another doubt.

Congratulations to the Bobcats on this victory, and good luck the rest of the way! Congratulations to Orrville on a very nice season. Like others said, this one game does not solve any "debate" between the WCAL and Orrville, or whatever that whole thing is about. Just two very good Wayne County teams hitting each other, and the better team won tonight. And yes, I think Norwayne is the better team.

Congrats from Dalton goes out to the Cats! Just got back from the game and really have to give Norwayne all the credit in the world for this one. A balanced offensive night for the Cats. John Zimmerly was huge.....I hope he is alright after going out with what looked like a knee injury.
The WCAL is proud of you guys. No, this game doesn't make the WCAL better than Orrville, but at least now they can take their supperiority complex and stick it.
By the way, another Norwayne assistant would be Indorf.....he and his defense deserve quite a bit of credit for this season as well.

Orrville won the battle of the RV's, 2 to 1. And the battle of school spirit flags something like 8-0. And the battle of professionally-made banners 1-0.

Congrats to Norwayne. Excellent game plan executed to near perfection. That's a good football team. Classy in victory too. Good luck against Girard.

Thanks to the Orrville seniors for a great run...saw lots of emotional young men after the game and as a father, that's tough to see....don't hang your head guys. You were great caretakers of RTR.

Great night, great atmosphere...crappy result but that's life.

Any mention of a location for the week 13 game over the PA or anything at this? I ask because Girard had been done stomping Black River for a while by the time this one ended.

Canton CC would be my guess. If they really want to make both teams travel the same, move it further east a little (Louisville).
Up toward the Akron area would work too, but the stadiums up there are college ones mostly, and too big.

Not only that, we clearly won the battle of the bands as well. Our band was very supportive and outstanding. Thanks to Mr. Jones and the band staff. You all did a fantastic job this year. :)

I too was quite disappointed with our play calling tonight. I still thought going to Lichti in the middle of the third quarter would have been a novel idea. Put Brenner as receiver and see what would have happened. Oh well, we'll never know. It was a fun ride, just wish it didn't have to end so abruptly. What a crappy day, Buckeyes lose in overtime and then our Riders let one get away. Ugh!!! :(

You must have been one of those Orrville fans that walked out and emptyed the stands on your side with about 3 to 4 minutes left in the game, way to support your team.

Congrats to Norwayne on a great win, good luck next week.

It always blows my mind how "fans" can walk out on their team before the game is over, especially with 3+ minutes left! And it's in the playoffs!

The Rider fans are awesome when they win, but horrible when they lose, show some love, also Norwayne is a great team. Sucks losing to them, they deserved it, coming from a Rider fan.

We got beat by a very good team tonight. They were clearly better in this game. Kudos to the players and fans on both sides for not getting cought up in poor sportsmanship. That can easily happen with so much on the line and familiar folks. It was a great night and atmosphere for High School football. Sounds like they made need 3 digit scoreboards next week! I see our Genoa buddies lost and Ironton as well (tough night for scout). Good luck next week Cats.

Anyone know if the one Zimmerly brother is hurt or if he's OK? Didn't play at all in the 4th quarter. Listening to the radio on the way home, and they were saying cramps. But I find it hard to believe a cramp would last that long and keep him out of the game with as effective as he was. I hope he's healthy and can play next week.

REPS!!!!!! my brother. I think if they are caught walking out on their team that they should be blackballed and never be allowed back.
