Freeing up cap space for a goalie. Plus Russell sucks.

Rumors were swirling last night they were trading Toots for Nabokov. I would have quit being a fan if that happened.

If Howson pulled the trigger on that one, he would have been labeled as a fucking moron.

Just trade off the entire roster and bring the Springfield guys in to finish the season. They couldn't do any worse - and think of the cap savings!

Nash makes more money than Lidstrom. Something is very wrong with a lot of their contracts but at the same time CBJ is so fundamentally bad that they give up horrible goals

Jackets win for the first time in 5 yrs vs the Preds in Nashville. Wisniewski an ot rocket past Rinne for the winner and Carter goal numero uno as a jacket. 3/4 points vs the B's and Preds in the road swing.

I went to my first Blue Jacets game last night w/ my bro, niece, and nephew. We had a blast. My brother called a contact of his to get us a line on some cheap tix, she called back and said they would be at will-call. We get there and pick up the tickets, and they are 95.00 face value, and they were given to us for free. I've never really been into Hockey, but by the 3rd goal, I found myself really into the game. It was a good first game to go to.

Went to my first game also last night. Had four tickets given to me. Sold two for 100 and had a nice dinner before hand. Really liked the ice cleaner girls also.

Hockey is one of those game which are far better watched in person than on TV. We try to go once a month - it's always enjoyable.

With Carter and Whiz finally in the lineup, I don't see why we can go .500 the rest of the season (sigh).

I agree it is best watched live. We have a local junior hockey team, tickets are $6, great entertainment value. Beats the $80 price tag we pay per ticket when we go see the Pens.

One thing that struck me is, the rink looks much bigger on TV than it actually is.

That's why it's better viewed in person - you can watch the plays set up, the defensive counters, etc. I think baseball is much the same.

Football, on the other hand, is more enjoyable on TV - there's so much happening so quickly that you can't easily pick up on what's going on.

Which is a reason that some people complaining about ticket prices are simply looking at the wrong tickets. The "cheap" seats up high are the best place to see the actual plays get set up.

CBJ finally fire Aniel. Todd Richards takes over as coach.

Let's hope this doesn't create a little winning streak and we lose the #1 draft spot.

That firing is about 2 months too late. Abysmal is a kind word to describe their state. Possibly the worst franchise in professional sports, and that's saying something.

The Browns might have something to say about that.

At least the Browns have attendance and history (albeit ancient history) going for them. Blue Jackets have neither.
