What/Who is the best current and all-time band from Ohio? from Columbus? Rock? Country? I'm talking about music here, rap fans need not reply.
Here are some I remember. Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders, Devo, Joe Walsh, Dwight Yoakam, McGuffey Lane, The Godz/Rosie. and TBDBITL.

I did not realize this, but Maynard James Keenan (TOOL) is from Ohio. That is pretty awesome.

Yeah I meant to include The Black Keys in the OP. I saw them at the Orlando Hard Rock on their first big tour.

Thankfully no one mentioned Mushroom Head. They're no even close to this list so far.

I met the drummer from The Ohio Players, he was working at an antique car shop in Mansfield.

In a search I found that Dave Grohl was born in Warren. He moved near Wash. DC when he was a toddler. I've been a big fan of him since Nirvana.

Ohio is severely lacking in the music department.

No love for one of the biggest Indie bands in history? The National are from Cincinnati, and they're some of the most highly respected guys in the industry.

FWIW, I think the Ohio native with the most Grammy awards is also from Warren, Ohio.
Any guesses as to who that is?

They are respected but they are not at all "one of the biggest Indie bands in history".Tobias Fünke;952821 wrote:No love for one of the biggest Indie bands in history? The National are from Cincinnati, and they're some of the most highly respected guys in the industry.
