Right .. I heard alot of big talk about Marlington in preseason and I said what have they ever done to deserve it other than one playoff run and a complete beatdown by Akron Buhctel ... That team just disapeared like a fart in the wind

I was waiting for Ursulin to get in at 4-6 because they would have won the title again .. Kirtland is prolly the second best team in that division and they would have got beat by Ursulin ...

Actually I am correcting myself here. The Wildcats dropped their last two, finishing at 6-4. I guess they aren ot up there as the best of teams left out.

Kirtland won't win D5 and neither would a 4-6 Ursulin. You guys think way too much of NE football.

Granville was another 9-1 team not to make it this year, out of division III region 11 (mooney, Steubenville, Dover and Minerva are also in the region). They finished tenth largely because of the weakness of the mid state league this year. However, they did come close to beating undefeated Johnstown Monroe...

I might give you Kirtland, but Ursuline would have won without much struggle.

And I don't even like Ursuline.

How many years in a row did Ursuline win the state championship? It's nothing about "NE football". It's about teams that have proven themselves.

Their in-state losses this year were to DI state-ranked 9-1 Mentor (39-28), DIII state-ranked 9-1 Lake Catholic (9-0), DIII state-ranked 10-0 Steubenville (22-17), and DI state-ranked 7-3 St Edward (20-7). They beat DIII state-ranked 8-2 SVSM (42-31) and DIII state-ranked 6-3 Cardinal Mooney 25-21.

Find me another team in DV that could hang with those 4 big boys like Ursuline did and beat the other 2. They are very few and far between.

If by "very few" you mean zero, then you are correct.

Final word - URSULINE

They would have won it all - any Division - absolutely, without a shadow of doubt!
Those of you who are naysayers have never seen them play - they are amazing, fricking
amazing I tell you, absofrickinglutely AMAZING!
It's a travesty and three quarters that they've been left out!

They are saying Division 5...not any division. I think anyone that would say they wouldn't easily roll through Division 5 might have a screw loose. Who else in Division 5 is going to beat Mooney or SVSM and stay within 2 scores of Steubenville, Mentor, Lake Catholic, and St. Ed? There is none.

Let's not beat a strawman. Nobody said they'd win every division. Four in-state opponents (albeit all State ranked in higher divisions) have certainly shown they're not invincible.

However, there is not another team in D5 that could have hung with, or beat, the teams they did, who are all divisions up and all State ranked. It's the nature of being a normal D5 school (they're a D3 school who dropped a couple divisions a few years ago).

They're not invincible, but they would be darn close in D5.

Like others have said...has nothing to do with NE Ohio Football...sorry to be harsh, but your statement is just ignorant.

Curious however who you think would win D5..?

Pickerington North missed out at 8-2 as well. Not taking one from Gahanna or pick central was the issue.
