The wife of a guy I coached with was the same way.Cat Food Flambe';943934 wrote:Warning - with worrying about getting knocked up out of the way, some women just go crazy. The wife planned a weekend getaway for us to celebrate - it took me a week to recover.

No reason for a man to have this done. Women have this non-invasive procedure available. My wife was in and out in an hour.

When you're single and you don't want kids anyway, that's a reason.WebFire;944284 wrote:No reason for a man to have this done. Women have this non-invasive procedure available. My wife was in and out in an hour.

Also if you are married and cheating, you don't have to worry about knocking up some slut you are banging on the side.tk421;944290 wrote:When you're single and you don't want kids anyway, that's a reason.

How does it feel when your balls are just freely floating around in your sack? Do you feel like any less of a man?

My wife and I were 25 when we had our 3rd child. She told me she was done. I needed more time to finish my degree and was unsure. The big "V" did not make sense to me at 25. I respected my wife's wishes. I told her if you want to go ahead and do it. The docs told my wife and I with two small incisions they would sever the tubes and burn the ends. Very reliable for our young age. Its an out patient procedure and nearly 14yrs later 100% effective.

Is it the smoking part that is working, or the never getting laid part?Heretic;943882 wrote:I just try to smoke enough ganga to sterilize myself. Haven't knocked anyone up yet, so the plan is working!
Nope, then your only worry is the herp.password;944338 wrote:Also if you are married and cheating, you don't have to worry about knocking up some slut you are banging on the side.

Thinking about signing up for the March Madness Special. Have it done the Weds before opening weekend of March Madness and then sit on the couch and watch every game for the next few days.

How much does it cost? What is the difference in the price for the guy's procedure vs. the girl's procedure?

Good point - had I been 25, I'm not sure I would have gotten clipped, either. Just a few years makes a difference - by the time I was in my early thirties, I was pretty sure that --I-- didn't want any more kids, either - either with my wife, or, God forbid, another woman had something happened to my wife.majorspark;944453 wrote:My wife and I were 25 when we had our 3rd child. That's probably what I would do were I in the market for a vasectomy.Fred Flintstone;944550 wrote:Thinking about signing up for the March Madness Special. Have it done the Weds before opening weekend of March Madness and then sit on the couch and watch every game for the next few days.

When my wife had it done I think it was $1800, but covered by our insurance. I have no idea what a vasectomy costs.Scarlet_Buckeye;944598 wrote:How much does it cost? What is the difference in the price for the guy's procedure vs. the girl's procedure?

I will say one more thing...
I've had three moments of raw, stark terror in my life...
1/ Watching my about-to-be wife walking up the aisle at our wedding;
2/ Standing in the nursery on the first night we brought our daughter home from the hospital - and realizing I'm responsible for that little thing...
3/ Watching the doctor lower a 4" hypodermic needle under the sheet to inject the local anesthesia for my vasectomy.

Got one at 26 against my wife's wishes. She just finished her second pregnancy with problems. I thought to myself, boy and girl equals a matching set. I don't need any more kids, even if my marriage failed (which it hasn't)
Biggest issue was the hot blonde nurse shaving my boys.....
May 1997 I was dropped off at the urologist, had the procedure, and walked home. 14 years later, my wife thanks me for my forethought.
