So sorry for your loss. I like my pets better than some of my kids.

I guarantee I like my pets more than 99% of the people I know.

Our cat is now gone. The worst part is that I have a 6 year old to tell when she gets home from school.

This. There's something about an animal when its worst quality is "too friendly" (since having a fat ball of fur trying to lay on your lap in the summer isn't comfortable unless you like your body temperature rising to about 340 degrees).

My cats will never betray me or lie to me. They only rely on me to care for them. My one fear is that my plump female nicknamed "Lil Fattie" (I'm sure you can appreciate the name) will bite through my CPAP hose and kill me in my sleep. LOL

Sorry for the loss of your family member. Breaking it to the kid won't be fun.

Well, she balled her eyes out. Luckily, she had a few friends over to play with later on, so she might not remember to be sad unitl we tuck her in for bed tonight.

Just a quick update. Quint's ashes were ready to be picked up today. He's in a very nice white tin container and the vet had cut some of his fur for me and is in a little clear zip lock bag as well. It wasn't easy tonight.

We did have a good run together. It just turned out to be a sprint rather than a marathon. I'll miss him.

We have two cats and they both suck. The one I adopted from the shelter almost three years ago, and at the time they said she had been there for a while and her days were numbered so I like to think I saved her life. She's still an unappreciative ****. Doesn't really like to be bothered (which I know describes 90% of most cats anyways) but she's especially bad about it.

Cats are decent pets to have. Of course they don't give you the compassion and interaction that a dog will, but if you just provide them with food and a couch to sleep on then they're content. There's so many damn stray cats in the world or dead ones on the side of the road, so it's nice to make a difference for one.

By running them over and making them one of the dead ones on the side of the road.
