I honestly dont think James Micahael McAdoo will be returning. He has a bright, bright future in the NBA.

Supposedly one of the Carolina insiders talked to his dad in St. Louis. When asked if JMM would be coming back, his dad said..."If I have anything to say about it, he'll be back".

The SEC ruled against allowing graduate transfers...but Oriakhi is not a graduate or pursuing a graduate degree program. Pretty sure he would still be eligible in the SEC.

The rule is transfers have to have at least two years of eligibility left if I recall correctly.

The way I read it in all the articles is "if the player has graduated, he will not be allowed for a one year transfer in to an SEC program."
In this case, Oriakhi would not be doing that. He fits the one year part, but he would still be in pursuit of an undergraduate degree.

What's the SEC's rationale for not accepting graduate transfers? Thats my understanding too. Not true that the new school has to offer a grad program that the previous school doesn't offer. Either way, the sec doesn't accept transfers with one year left.

Apparently, they do. The player can apply for a waiver, and if granted, he can come in.

Dumbest rule ever. Confirmation though. Regardless of what the NCAA says about his eligibility, he will have to obtain a waiver from the SEC to transfer to one of their schools. If this is granted, he is free to enroll, without sitting a year, at an SEC school.
My guess is that if UK has contacted him as it has been reported, they are confident he can get the waiver.

Word from the Carolina insiders is that Barnes, Henson, and Marshall are gone. Too worried about injuries and passing up the money while it's there.
McAdoo was definitely coming back, but is now reconsidering because his stock has risen. He's gonna discuss it with his family and then make a decision soon, but he's probably gone as well.
Carolina's team is gonna be absolutely gutted. 2012-2013 is gonna be interesting for the Heels with only 9 scholarship players at the moment, and 4 of those will be freshmen. The backcourt could be ok, but the frontcourt is a HUGE question mark.
