Camby, especially in his prime with the Knicks, was a considerably better mid-range spot-up jump shooter (albeit it was often very awkward looking), but, as CBF pointed out, Davis just hasn't fully developed his offensive game yet.
That's the offensive game I expect Davis to have in the NBA. A spot-up mid-range player, who can also get up for lobs.

I don't think he's ever going to be showing great back to the hoop type moves in the post.

SportsAndLady;1083623 wrote:It's not close because like I said before, I don't go off RPI or SoS or any of that bullshit. Why? because you can just look at that and say which one is best, but it may not be true. It's like saying Murray State ranked #7 in the country is better than Kansas who is #10 in the country.

I'm not gonna be on here proving that Texas has a great resume'; they're a bubble team and have the record of a bubble team (not a good one). However, other than Oregon State they have no bad losses. Something none of those 3 SEC teams can say...hell just yesterday Bama and MSU had HORRIBLE losses.
Iowa State just lost to Oklahoma State last week. They're worse than LSU. That's a HORRIBLE loss. Oklahoma is 1-9 in the B12 against teams not named Kansas State. And they swept the Wildcats. Those are bad losses.

If you want to throw out the numbers - fine. Even if you don't want to look at RPI and instead use the "eye test" or whatever other shit there is to judge teams, the fact is Iowa State has 1 great win and nothing else, to go along with 2 very bad losses (Drake and Oklahoma State).

Texas has 1 good win (and even that one isn't that impressive - Temple) and 1 really bad loss to Oregon State.

Kansas State only has 1 good win too. I would give them 2, but apparently Alabama sucks so we won't count it. And again, swept by Oklahoma.

So there goes that "no bad losses" argument. And very few good wins either.

Alabama has 2 bad losses (South Carolina and LSU). Vandy has 2 "bad" losses (Cleveland State isn't terrible but I'll count it. Indiana State is bad). Mississippi State doesn't really have any bad losses aside from Georgia. I guess maybe Ole Miss?

You still aren't selling me.

I would say Davis' 8 inch growth spurt during his junior year in HS is part of the reason for this. He is probably still getting adjusted to his body. Crazy to think he would have been at Cleveland State if it wasn't for growing.

They're bubble teams Mulva, anybody can make them look terrible..which you did a good job of doing.

My point is despite being pretty bad, they're still better than middle of the conference SEC teams.

And this whole point started from which conference is best..SEC or Big 12? The Big 12 has 2 great teams and 1 good team. SEC has 1 great team and a bunch of average teams. Yes, Florida is average. They have no good wins.

That's not what it started from, because I agreed that the B12 is better. I said that in my opinion the SEC is the #4 conference, but that it isn't very far behind the B12 for #3.

The point started from you saying the SEC is terrible and not even close to the B12.

I don't really care that much anymore but I don't remember seeing you say the Big 12 is #3 and SEC #4.

But it's whatever..matter of opinions

Upset city tonight?

#2 Cuse @ #18 Louisville
#5 Kansas @ Kansas State
Iowa State @ #10 Baylor

I could see all 3 of those games as upsets

I'll go with the 'Ville over 'Cuse upset special, but IMO the other two seeds are safe.

I think all 3 are safe. Kansas St hasnt been playing well. Home Court for them is big, but they havent played well recently.

Louisville just isnt very good. I dont think they can score much on the Syracuse zone.

Iowa St is bad.

Iowa State isn't bad. 18-7 with a marquee win over Kansas.

They're just an average, second-round-at-best tournament team.

Syracuse has lost 7 straight to Louisville. Pitino teams have always given Syracuse fits.

Ugly, UGLY game. Syracuse escapes with a 1-point win. On the road against a ranked team that had beaten them 7 times in a row...and a team coached by Pitino - I'll take it.

I don't know about Mulva, but you've sold me. Lol.

Agreed that I would take Taylor over Dellavedova, but the latter is definitely a guy that jumped into my head when I saw your question proposed earlier. He's probably a top 10 guy in the country in terms of point guards. From the admittedly small sample I've seen of him this season, at almost 6'5" and of unlimited range on his three, Dellavedova reminds me a bit of former Gonzaga PG Blake Stepp. He isn't as accurate a shooter as Stepp or even Taylor, but the St. Mary's lead guard is a well-rounded offensive player that can really stretch it.

Oh he's definitely good..I also have only seen a little bit of him, but hes dfeinitely good. Tyshawn Taylor is playing better than any PG in the country right now though.

Similarly to Vandy's game trajectory against UK over the weekend, K-State overcoming lowly shooting early to pull back within two of Kansas in the Octagon of Doom. The Wildcats trail 30 to 32 about midway through the second half. This is obviously a very important game for KU to stay on pace with Mizzou for what would likely be the No. 1 seed in St. Louis.

As the announcers stated earlier, I can't wait for Mizzou at Kansas and, more importantly, the Big XII Tournament. A KU-Mizzou final would be pretty epic, I think.

K-State's next 2 games are on the road against Baylor and Missouri. Lose tonight and they're looking at 6-9 in conference play and in big trouble.
