He's done. Due to the poor APR they will not be eligible for the NCAA tournament next year. I imagine they will be announcing a national coaching search in the next two months.

I wouldn't be surprised if he does step down after this season.

This +1000. And Matta gets many more players who dont just play for one season.

Are you sure about that? It seems like they both have had their share of early exits.

So basically, if the SEC is so bad in bball, then programs like OSU shouldnt be losing in the tourney to UF, Tenn, and UK? Right? Or maybe OSU should just get out of the first and 2nd round like they didnt recently vs. Siena and Gtown. Of course, OSU has years of not even making the tourney recently too. So whats OSU doing to show they are superstars?

The SEC as a whole as a very "meh" conference. They are good at the top, but thats it.

OH, so one or two good teams at the top NOW equals a great conference? LMAO. Such a piece of work you are. Master spinner! lol

BTW, I am not sure how or why Matta got into this convo. But whatever I guess.

Many more? lol WTF? Where do you get this shit from? Do you even follow basketball? And Cal chooses to go this route. So it is what it is no matter what the circumstances are.

CGW, seriously dude, you need to stay off the CBB forum, because you really don't know if a basketball is pumped or stuffed. Remember you said "see you in the Spring" after the NC game? It ain't April yet, my friend

Trust me, I know plenty about college basketball, and been following it more closely than probably 95% of the people on here have in the past 30 years. I just dont get on this forum much since its meh. And dont worry, you wont see me much on here. And as for spring....that was the football forum. And cbf, Im waiting for you to prove me that Im wrong, since you think Im crazy on what I posted. Matta gets players that stay for a few seasons and does less than what Cal does with one and dones, with little experience.Matta should do much better than what he does. Fact.

As a Kentucky fan, of course you're going to defend Cal the Criminal, but you have to be disappointed with his inability to get to, let alone win, the Big Game....especially with all the players he's purchased over the years.

lol ya, ok. I guess you don't recall the Oden, Conley, Cook NCAA finalist team, then all left to NBA. 3 first round picks. They made NCAA finals. Two years ago, Cal, UK had 5, yes FIVE first round NBA picks. Wall, Cousins, Bledsoe were frosh. They did not even make the final four.
So please, STFU, and move on.

Cal been there 2 years plus this one and has a final four and E8, no early exits. At this point UK fans would be assanone to get upset with no title. It isn't to that point yet. He went 35-3, 29-9, and is currently 22-1. He is on his way to winning 2/3 SEC titles and is 2/2 on SEC tourney titles with a chance for 3/3. Seriously, in what world would a UK fan be upset at this point lol? You guys are delusional.

Ok shower time, can't believe I just defended Cal that much!

it's 'assinine', and it's not as much slamming Kentucky and what Cal has done as it is slammimg CGW and his unwarranted criticism of Thad Matta. If you're going to stick your nose in something, try and keep up, okay Hawk Boy?

And with THAT much talent, EASILY more than any coach in the country, if he doesn't get a title this year, I'd call that underachieving. That talent collectively, could currently field a VERY nice NBA team.

Bobcats by 30 if they use NBA refs, 20 if they use college refs.
