Simple question. Do you have any volunteering activities? Do you give money to charity?

If so, how many hours a weeks do you give, and what percentage of your income do you donate to charities?

10% to the church and probably another 5 to other charities.

No volunteer work for me but I work a wierd schedule and need the time to spend with my family.

I donate to charity all throughout the year.
I donate to:

The Epworth Center
Tri-County Women's Shelter
The ASPCA
Salvation Army
*Occasionally I get snookered into donated to the Highway State Patrol for jelly.
*And I always donate to the local VFD when they come around.

My income varies, depending on how much I decide to work (work on my own time), so I can't go by %. But generally, it's a couple hundred all throughout the year, roughly up to $500.

My wife and I established an endowment fund many years ago to fund pre and post placement adoption related services. We continue to fund this today.

I do quite a bit. This is my "busiest" time of the year. I ask each person who chooses to buys for me for "monetary" donations in lieu of gifts and buy presents for underprivileged children through our county Children Services department. This year it is tough for me to do, but I am blessed with things they don't have, so I'll continue to do so.

I usually donate to the red cross after major disasters. I donate clothes once or twice a year to the homeless shelter. I have volunteered for things but probably should do a bit more.

Isn't my tax money enough to charity to those that are unemployed and not looking for work and those on welfare?

I donate to St. Vincent de Paul, church, thrift shops and I am currently working on getting donations for Relay for Life at my college. I volunteer at Habitat for Humanity, soup kitchens, and I do volunteer work for my hometown when I come home if I am not too busy.

I don't do enough volunteering, but I sponsor a child through Children International (recommend everyone checking this out) and other random donations throughout the year.

i usually volunteer anywhere from 5 to 6 hours a week. i volunteer "security" for a local youth center that books christian metal/metalcore bands. my intentions arent right since i only do it because one of my best friends books the shows for the venue and i help him.

i also donate like a dollar or something out of every paycheck/week to Altar Inc. which is the organization that runs the youth center.

i used to donate a buck a week/paycheck to the American Cancer Society but that program wasnt available this year for some reason we just did united way and you got to pick which local organization it went to.

Not a huge percent of my income goes to charity but at work there are tons of things going on to donate. I also teach in a district with a 76% poverty rate so I already do a lot in terms of bringing cloths in, throwing in some $$ to buy holiday meals for some families, etc.

I donate to March of Dimes, Make-A-Wish, and the Fisher House through the Combined Federal Campaign. I'm a committe member for the Aaron Reed Memorial Scholarship and Veteran's Awareness organization. We mostly raise scholarship money, but also have given to Habitat for Humanity and the Blue Star Mothers. I will donate to almost any worthy cause, except the Red Cross.
