Kinda sad but the demolition of the Civic/Mellon/Civic Arena is underway. The video on the PG page hurts to watch.

5-0 preseason. I got tickets for the home opener so I fully expect them to play like crap then, although my hope is that that is the night Sid makes his comeback. I'm not expecting it but the energy in the arena would be incredible.

They looked putrid in the last 5 minutes of the game.

It's 2-1 Pens after the first. PP is an unbelievable 2-2!! Yes, after last years 1-34 in the playoffs, it's reason to celebrate.

Pens win 4-3 in a S/O. Fuck yes. Geno abused Luongo on the clincher.

Good win.

The team HAS to be better in the 3rd period.

Granted, I don't see a lot of the Canucks so I don't know the situation but isn't it weird if you are in a shootout, why do you throw out Samuellson and Burrows and not 1 of the past two Art Ross Trophy winners in the Sedin's?

They suck in SO's.

Good way to start the season, winning on the road against a tough team.

Not so good for me, as games ending that late don't exactly help me when it comes to waking up reasonably early.

^^Yeah, halfway through the 2nd period I nearly fell asleep if it wasn't for the VS crew shouting "Oh My God, What a save by Fleury!!!"

Still, Samuelson is what? 1-8 lifetime in SO's? Not complaining. Take the 2 points and get the hell out of there.

Schedule makers didn't do the Pens any favors. 3 games in 4 nights on a Western Canada trip and then traveling home for the home opener 2 days later.

And people wonder why the Wings want to leave the West

I was talking about the Sedins, they're turrible in SO's.

Head shot to Cooke. There had better be some suspensions and fines going to the Flames because of this. If not, it's my guess that anything goes, new rules or not.

Can the Pens come home from a west coast trip 3-0? Got Edmonton tonight. A little concerned about fatigue tonight being this is the Pens 3rd game in 4 nights and the Oilers first game of the season.
