Let's discuss and speculate who the head coach for the Buckeyes should be in '12.

Couldn't agree more. Leave 3 timeouts on the field when you are losing? Fickell is way out of his element as a head coach

not sure what coach could help this mediocre talented team out. looks like a bad minnesota team out there.

If Ohio State had gone 12-0 we still would have been looking for a new coach IMO

Throw out the whole staff. Embarrassing play by our QB's but, but even more so by the coaches. I knew Fickell wasn't ready but never imagined he would look this bad at it. Passing on 1st and 10? Absolutely no creativity. Dumb penalties of wrong formations. And the management of the QB situation is atrocious.

I would be okay with seeing Graham, Guyton, and Miller next week. Why not...

I'd be happy with Hall taking snaps in the wildcat. Seriously.rydawg5;900946 wrote:I would be okay with seeing Graham, Guyton, and Miller next week. Why not...

Meyer wouldn't be running Bauserman out there, I can tell you that.rydawg5;900928 wrote:not sure what coach could help this mediocre talented team out. looks like a bad minnesota team out there.

We could just run Navys offense with Miller, Hall, Hyde, and Berry. Just keep the receivers off the fieldthedynasty1998;900955 wrote:I'd be happy with Hall taking snaps in the wildcat. Seriously.

I disagree, maybe a whole staff, save Vrabel, but if they went 12-0 Fickell would be back. No questions asked.ou1980;900931 wrote:If Ohio State had gone 12-0 we still would have been looking for a new coach IMO
(However we all knew we weren't going 12-0 this year.)

I said on the game thread, that OSU should rid themselves of everyone from the JT regime which is just about everyone. I really believe that Fickell is just a stop gap to get OSU through this season due to the timing of JT's resignation and nothing more. Fickell played under John Cooper, which is a little worrisome to me, and tonight I saw that deer in the headlights look on Fickell's face that we saw too often from Cooper when he took on Michigan and in the bowl games. So, yeah, Fickell scares me a little. Depending on what the NCAA does will largely affect who ultimately comes to tOSU, imo.

I'd be surprised if Meyer came back into coaching. He seems like he loves what he is doing.

He at least had us moving the ball haha. The WRs are terrible. Bauserman can only pass and can barely do that. So what the F do you do with him? You can at least run with Miller.rydawg5;900966 wrote:yeah, miller had some good touchdown drives tonight.
On top of that Bauserman will be around for 10 more weeks. No sense in investing much more PT and energy into him

That's debatable. I've only watched one game of his, though, so I don't know. My comment had just as much to do with him being a "family man" than it did being an analyst.jordo212000;900987 wrote:He's not very good at it.

In Bauserman's defense (I don't know why) he obviously lacks great talent and his WRs are not doing him any favors, but the OC, whether it's Bollman or Fickell, have to be more creative offensively. How about a reverse, or a screen, or a shovel pass? The 7 step drop with Bauserman obviously doesn't work.

Yeah I know, just making a counterpoint. The WRs blow. Bauserman isn't a mobile QB, so with those two things occurring we're screwed. Miller adds another element, has upside, and doesn't play scared.rydawg5;900995 wrote:i dont disagree just making a point

where are the Ted Ginn, David Boston types? Posey is missing, but even he isn't a typical top flight WR we're used to seeing at Ohio Staterydawg5;901003 wrote:ive never seen this weak of a receiving core at osu

there's no one. I think Vernon will be good in the future, but he was a QB in high school. It'll just take awhile. Where's all the NFL cornerbacks we usually have as well?jordo212000;901006 wrote:where are the Ted Ginn, David Boston types?
