I don't know how you come into this game with such a terrible offensive gameplan OSU had today...Purdue gave up 62pts last week to Wisky and this week it looks like we're almost playing MSU's D again. We don't need to run the effing wildcat 10 effing times and have to think of something else other than a freakin QB draw...yes it works a couple times but I think after a couple times everyone in the stadium knows what's going on. That and the blocked XP really got to me the most...It still makes me wonder how you can block someone for 2 seconds and just make the effing FG. This whole staff is gone is what I can see happening bc they blew their shot to try and get back in the picture for the B10 title.

Their game plan stunk because they have no passing game. With no passing game, your game plan will always stink. The announcers said that OSU ranked 3rd from the bottom in passing...in the entire country....behind Army and Navy. It's really pretty amazing that we've won any games at all this year.

11 of us from this site could have randomly shown up hammered and beaten Akron, so at least give them credit for that one

Fickell hasn't been great and he needs to go, but I put 90% of the blame on Bollman. I'd be curious to see what happened to our season if we fired Siciliano and Bollman before the season started and replaced them with two competent coaches.

Both were on the staff because of connections and/or because Tress liked them and they accepted their role as glorified coffeegetters. Because you know that's what Bollman was doing before this season. His most difficult decision day in and day out, was guessing how much sugar Tress liked in his coffee.

Even if he'd been given command of the staff, I doubt Fickell would have made those changes. I think he's like Tressel in that he'd have stayed loyal to the people he had worked with, even though they simply aren't very good coaches.

With as bad as they are I doubt they would have been able to find anyone better in June. There's a reason why people who are available in June are available.

This is true of Bollman, not Siciliano. Siciliano was a GA when Pryor first came to Columbus and was promoted when Joe Daniels took a lesser role on the staff while battling cancer (which he is still dealing with, btw. He's a good family friend and a great guy, so please keep him in your prayers). He was promoted because his role had been as Daniels' assistant who could be hands-on while Daniels was confined to a golf cart at practice. Also, Pryor really liked him and Coach Daniels stepped down shortly before a season started, so they didn't have many options.

Posted this in the wrong thread earlier, here it is again:

Kindof random, and this is highly unlikely, but would Nick Saban consider a return to the Big 10? I know, I know ... just thought it would make for some interesting banter. It's not likely he hasn't jumped ship before.

That being said, Urban Meyer is the slam dunk OSU needs here. If we miss out on him, Peterson would be a GREAT hire, regardless of his experience recruiting in the Midwest. I also know that Greg Schiano's stock has dropped lately, but he is a solid coach at Rutgers, even though my gut says he winds up at Penn State.
