its time to scrap the "stacked-i" formation, they don't have the blockers like benedis and sikora that made it successful last year. they need to stay in the spread or variations of the spread. they didn't use ja'les at all in the "wildcat" where he could pick and choose his holes, and they didn't use any "option" at all. rushton and patton need to be utilized alot more than they have been. rushton catches everything thrown his way, and they have to find a way to capitalize on patton's speed. they have to win out now, it's as simple/hard as that...........................

The stacked I was more effective when Charles Smith was one of the blockers. He has played only defense for the past couple of weeks. sonny, I mentioned my surprise to you at the game last night as to why Campbell didn't use the wildcat/pony formation vs. LaBrae. I agree. Campbell needs to spread the field out more often and get the ball into the hands of the playmakers. I have not given up on the season. I don't want the kids to either. We can still make some noise and get into the postseason if we can win out. Several of us realized that this was not going to be easy before the season started. It's time to get back on track. Winning on Friday will be a good start.

another costly penalty...no control over this team. shame on this staff. you cant let the crazies run the asylum. the writing was always on the wall. now you have an irreversible problem. from top to bottom. the talk of preferential treatment of your "stars" has really started a bad precedent. sorry but sikoras lost control.

The cancer on the team needed to be dealt with before the season. But since there are All Pros on the team, nothing was done. Now you have a nightmare on your hands. What a shame! I would rather lose with youngsters who will try their best, than keep the cancer on the team, who brings everyone down!

Weird thing i seen couple players wearing odd colored shoes that don't match campbell at all.... I know when i was in school we werent allowed to pull no crap like that.. hell our basketball teams we werent even allowed to wear headbands or any junk like that.

The thing is that dean and the few was right. 1994 here we are!!!! But the kids are still on the team. Problem is sikora allows this to be knuckleheads teams instead of his. Got a few weeks to fix it or its over. The season where the talent was abundant and speed should have killed. and a defence that was supposed to be the best in years. Defence i think is losing confidence slowly. I admit i was a idiot that believed in this team, Well the joke was on me. Im sorry i ever did defend this team. they are out of control baby's. 1994 plain and simple this season is a wash unless there is a miracle. shame with this much talent. And one last thought. This is a staff with enough experience to dominate. And yet they can not get this team under control. I wont lay the blame on just one side. But we have been waiting far to long to feel what it was like in the 80's and early 90's again. the closest we have been to that was last years team. Last year was the best time on Fridays i had since 91.

I remember Coach Sikora talking about these big talented tackles he had coming back and he gave them a lot of lip service time over the summer and they aren't very good. Hughes is legit and Reyes has a good arm but it seems as though he makes the decision of where to throw the ball before the snap which will burn you. They do not have the offensive linemen to line up in the stack and push good teams around and they might be better served at spreading it out more, but its week 6 and they might have to ride it out at this point.

I see your point. But the fact is Campbell lost four offensive linemen due to graduation. The only returning offensive lineman is McWilson. Burnett is back from last season too. But he played mostly defense last season. Now he is playing both ways. I say scrap the stacked I. Last season they had experience up front and two really good blockers in the backfield in Benedis and Sikora when they ran out of that formation. I say spread the field and utilize the speed.

Campbell tried some quick screens to get their perimeter passing game going but the problem with doing that stuff "some of the time" is that your kids don't get any good at it. If you are going to be a stack I team then that is your identity and same goes for the spread stuff. You have to have truly gifted and disciplined football players to line up in both of those offenses and be able to execute. The timing was off with their spread game and their guys only get the ball in their hands when they are stationary. Labrae is starting two freshmen on defense and they needed to make them tackle in space and they were not able to do that.
Campbell has a great staff of coaches but you can tell that team is in trouble with attitude problems and poor body language. They did show heart by coming back but they also showed an extreme lack of discipline by getting nailed with penalties. They need to develop more toughness in the trenches. I have seen them play 3 times in the last three years and each time they got beat badly up front (Salem 2009,2010,Labrae 2011).

There is a deeper problem within the defense. I made an observation during the South Range-Campbell game and asked the head coach his reasons for doing something that leaves the middle of the field open and puts pressure on the front four. I cannot print his answer here. But the good teams have been able to exploit this weakness. If you know football, and your post above tells me you do, you will be able to guess what the problem is.
