Both teams enter this game with 3-1 records. Campbell comes in after a heartbreaking loss in OT to Brookfield. Labrae bounces back with a win in week 4. Huge game for both teams as league play opens. Thoughts?

I am interested to see how Campbell responds to some adversity. I knew it was coming. LaBrae has a nice running back and a good quarterback.

Big game this week and could be the game that makes or breaks campbells season as the playoffs go. Labrae does not have the defense that Brookfield has but still if Campbell doesnt take chances down field its easy to put 8-9 players in the box. Should be a very tough game but i say the red devils rebound and win 27-21. Yes 27 because they should fumble at least one extra point lol.

Campbell DOES rebound against LaBrae. After the disaster in Brookfield, you guys need to show the talent you have.
I see the Devils also winning by a TD or more.

Good luck against LaBrae!

Here are the key players for LaBrae, which is led by a great coach in Bill Bohren, a gentleman who has been coaching for 47 years, with the last 8 at LaBrae. They are talented in the backfield. I believe the QB is sophomore Peyton Aldridge who is tall at 6-5. The kid has a good arm. And LaBrae has a couple of decent receivers. They have a very good running back in senior Matt Szorady who can also catch the ball out of the backfield, and a big fullback in senior Carrington Herron, who is about 260 pounds. Herron was the starting QB for LaBrae last season until he was hurt. That's when then freshman Aldridge took over. And they've got good depth in the backfield if any of the starters need a spell. I would say Campbell is a little bigger up front, but not much. These are hard-nosed kids at LaBrae. Labrae has beaten Salem 21-7, Mineral Ridge 60-7, and Champion 46-28. Labrae's loss is to Cuyahoga Falls Christian Academy 21-14, a division three team with a 2-2 record.

This is another worthy opponent for Campbell. It's a game Campbell must win without question.

It's not hype. It's a list of their returnees and game scores. It's just information. There is no hype.

Which is "their?" It's the AAC and it is what it is. It's going to stay that way until next season when the league will be broken down from three divisions to two, with Jefferson Area a new member. This season, Campbell's non-league opponents are Mineral Ridge, South Range, Brookfield, and Edgewood. LaBrae's non-league schedule includes Salem, CVCA, Jefferson Area, and Steubenville Catholic Central. I am not 100% certain of this, but I believe Lakeview and Jefferson Area will be on the Campbell schedule next season replacing Mineral Ridge and Brookfield.

A good source has informed me that Campbell is not in playoff position at this point. Granted, this is just the first week where computer points are going to be released. Campbell is not even in the top 10. There is a lot of work to do. First and foremost, Campbell must win on Friday at LaBrae.

Its actually real simple......put the loss behind you and get after Labrae. If this team cannot do that and they want to blame each other and their coaches for one loss....then my point is proven when some of you were deeming them the team of the decade a few weeks ago. I told you I see signs of 1994. Prove me wrong fellas. Prove me wrong. Trust me, I have never wanted to be more wrong in my life. But I do not see leadership on this team....I do not see the ability to get past adversity. I see crying and moaning and the inability to put something behind you and live to fight another day.

This is a pretty interesting week in region 17. Most of the teams play each other or some teams that will give them good points. So, this becomes a must win for us.

Season is so far from over. I mean we have a league title to play for, a chance to beat our rival at home, and if we can muster up a string of wins and pull it together, a third straight year in the playoffs. Now there is no one loss won't hurt. Now we must play each week like there's no tomorrow. Can this team do that??

I agree. We need to get back on track this week by defeating LaBrae.

If anyone is going to the gridiron meeting tonight, could you please post on here what was said. I am interested to see how coach is going to resolve these issues.

I am going. I'll email you oldschool. I don't think it's a good idea to post certain things here. I have to respect the coaches regarding things like this.

The lack of disciplne needs to be addressed! It's a disease that will continue to get worse if ii isn't nipped in the butt now!

Agree. He is what i think. Since i defended this group of kids. I just want to say i knew in the back of my head that this had the potential to be disaster of a season. So far its got bad. there are players i'm disappointed in and I'm sure they don't give a rats rear end what the fans think. And i know they don't care what the coaches and the players that came before them think. They worry about there image they have to defend. the hair cuts the girls they claim to kick with as they say. But this is not how i remember it was in my time when all the city of Campbell loved each and every one of there players. and i know that each and everyone of them players loved to perform and win for there city and fans. i seen it we all have. and that is in any school. But for the very first time I'm embarrassed as a fan. we looked stupid in the end. and we looked like chumps also. Through all the bad years i have never once said I'm ashamed of this team! I was always proud of the players no matter what. I have gotten mad at coaches more then i care to have. But i can honestly say for the first time i am. I don't think they deserve to play this week or suit up!

Now to this weeks game. Campbell should Win but can they? We will find out Friday since now the adversity is in affect. This might have been what the Dr ordered. Go Devils!!!!

sooner1, I trust you are excluding me from the few that had been pumping these kids up as if they were the second coming of the Green Bay Packers before the season began. Every Campbell fan wants a successful season and a playoff run. But I never put the cart before the horses. A few fans who are as passionate as you and I looked at the roster, watched 7 on 7 passing scrimmages, the contact scrimmages, and saw how much talent and potential was there. And they ran with that, thinking that the talent would be enough to get Campbell to the playoffs. That is not the whole picture. I warned a few fans and huddlers not to do this because the kids read these forums. I realized the senior leadership on this team was going to be a concern. Sooner than later adversity would come in the form of a loss, injuries, etc. It has in the form of a loss to Brookfield. How this group handles adversity is going to determine the success or failure of this season. Forget last week. Focus on LaBrae and get it done.

I have said from day one for many of you to hang on and wait and see how they handle adversity. One loss......ONE LOSS and at this point...well.....they cant handle it. Pathetic. Thank God for this staff Im telling you right now. For those who dont know...please....know your facts before you tear into them. They are the glue.

I agree 100%. It's just ONE loss. The season is just starting to unfold.

And.............maybe, just maybe, this loss might be a good thing. It forces them to refocus. You can't overlook any team. You can't look at records. You can't look ahead of your schedule beyond the next team you're playing, even if a big rival or huge game lurks ahead.

I look for the coaches to look at some of the mistakes and fix them. Campbell will come back focused and ready to knock heads at LaBrae. You can count on it!

Go Devils! :p
