I vote Series as honorary coach next week because he has all the answers. With him on the sidelines our opponents have no chance of winning because with will have every player in the right position and the right person with the ball all the time. Teams probably won't even show up to play us once they find out our new secret weapon. All in favor. Don't tell Wooster about him we don't want them hiring him and us losing every game from here on out against them.

5knots...what blew your mind? Was it the fact that you actually thought that was a tough opponent last night and Orrville crushed a stellar opponent. I understand you're a fan, but please man, it was an easy victory because they weren't very good.

That would be like putting Al-Qaeda in charge. Don't you get it? (I know you do) He despises our team success...both football and basketball.

Looks like BJ Payne has another overrated and overhyped team over at Lexington. Picked to finish #2, more like 5-7.

What is "the hype"? We beat Lexington. They are always a tough opponent on our SOS. What is the point of this negativity? I am happy that we are going in to week 5 at 3-1. I would bet that before the season started, true Rider fans would be elated with this. I believe we have put the loss to Copley behind us now (which all the true fans know that we should have won) and moved on to the matter at hand. BTW, rider1, looks like our friends in Canal Fulton are doing a pretty good job for us!

Don't worry, the McCreary's will let the hype look good one Friday this season.

They weren't a tough opponent this year.

Lex is over hyped almost every year. I cannot understand why. A couple decent seasons and thats it. They achieve mediocrity and tell all how many "D1" players they have, and how great BJ is. Question is, are you getting anything done on Friday night? The kids parents are concerned about college offers, the rest of the fans want to win on Friday.

Our weak opponents have helped us to move up to 5th in the region after week 4. We have helped Copley to get to 4th in their region and weak Northwest is 10th in their region behind #9 Mooney, I guess they must also be weak again.

BJ takes these kids to all these big camps during the summer and they always never fail to amaze the recruiters with their 40-yard dash times and vertical leaps.

Colin Michael, a D1 QB prospect or already verbally committed somewhere? Sure hasn't looked like one so far this season but he has the size and presumably arm strength the D1 colleges love.

2007 and 2008 saw some key transfers to Lex from Northmor and Mansfield Senior but seems like BJ has to rely more on the homegrown talent these past two seasons.

BJ was used car salesman in a former life, I'm convinced of it.

Payne has some great connections from his days at Mount Union & Massillon. He's getting his kids looks at the next level. Can't really fault that can we?

Absolutely not.....he also promotes our kids as well. One of the things a college will ask a coach is if they know of anyone they should be looking at. it has not hurt our program to have a guy out there talking us up as well.

BJ and the boys are going to win games. We played pretty well Friday and won easily. I dont understand why everyones so bent out of shape. This is a quality win. The Riders are on the way up in the Region. The good thing is that I dont see anyone in our region that we can't beat. Let's go get a home game for the playoffs. Go Riders!

Other than the haters, nobody is bent out of shape....one person is dismissing our performance b/c it was against a "bad" opponent. I agree, it was a quality win...and we looked good in beating them. It was a shot of confidence that we needed the most. A lot of things hinged on how we played this past Friday....I honestly think a loss could have really spoiled this season and given rise to more negativity.

Was glad to hear the coaches talk with confidence of the kids responding in a way befitting Orrville football. The comment from a member of the media was "Orrville always responds well."

Let the haters hate...because they thrive on it.

BJ does promote kids from other schools and I agree, there is nothing wrong with that. The point is Lex is usually picked to finish in the top three, contend for the OCC pre-season almost every year but seldom lives up to the pre-season hype. They are usually a middle of the pack team, when it's all said and done.

This year the OCC is a bit of a crap shoot. Orrville seems like they are the ones to beat now but Ashland, with their crazy tough non-conference slate this season out of the way, might have already seen the best team they will see all year. I thought Wooster would give them headaches but the Arrows disposed of them pretty easily. Orrville/Ashland game will be for the all the OCC marbles, imo. Don't see any other OCC school beating these two this year.
