Went to the game last night. It was pretty awesome to see the stadium so bumpin after a rain delay and for a meaningless game. I thin the statue of Thome was a little ridiculous but it was nice to see him hit a home run in his "Thomecoming".

now only if he could be taught to play the outfield. heck the other day he even made Duncan drop a fly ball.

Three more wins needed to guarantee an over .500 season.

Tribe making it interesting in the nightcap. Down 6-0 they put up a 5 spot, so far, to draw within 6-5 in the 6th...

Duncan 2R double puts the Tribe up 7-6 in the 7th...

That pretty much sums him up. I do like his appraoch at the plate...but he takes bad routes to the ball in the OF. When he and Duncan are in the same outfield, it is positively scary.

Perez closes it out. Tribe with the sweep 7-6. Pretty friggin sweet coming back from a 6-0 deficit. Now 2 games above .500.

And 2 more wins needed to finish it out enough to satisfy BRF.

This team is 80-78 with 4 games left. Currently have a 3 game lead on Chicago for 2nd.

Last season, they were 69-93 and finished 4th.

one more win and I will be happy...that is until they do nothing in the offseason to upgrade this flawed team.

Thought it was pretty cool that they put Thome in at 3rd base yesterday....even if it was only for one pitch. First time he's played the hot corner since 1996.

It would have been nice if the home season would have ended with a win...still, a lot of good feelings...the team is on the way back up.

Is Shelly Duncan making the FO think about him as being more than a bench player? What a month he is having.

Wanted to chime in on the Thome statue. My chime in is "DUMB"

Players who leave in their prime dont get statues. Thats all I can say. Put in our HOF? Absolutely!!!! Statue? Absolutely NOT!

Reps. Its what I said also. Given a full (er) slate of games, he could have been a poor mans "right handed power bat" we needed. AKA, he could hit 20+ HRs and hit .260. Not great, but it is closer to what we needed than anything else we had.

But instead we had Kearns to do that. And then made Duncan do the "shuffle".

Kearns and Brian Robiskie have the same agent who in turn have compromising photos of Manny Acta and Tom Heckert, respectively.

Absolutely!

I love Duncan, but now watch the front office not do anything via trade or FA with a big right handed stick.

Ubaldo got rocked again....I am pretty sure that the last year in a half is the real ubaldo....that first half of last year was a fluke.

That trade was such a bad idea

Should've traded him for Ozzie Guillen...

Hmmmm!

I've got no problem with a Thome statue.....not when the owner is not gonna cough up the bucks to keep him here. If we are going to hold players to the standard that they can't leave in their prime if they get a better offer...we''ll never have any heros. Thome is a class act. Period.

Shelly Duncan as an every day player?......uhhhhh... he better hit a lot of HR's to make up for the poor defense. Right now, he's the back up plan. I don't mind keeping him as a 4th or fifth outfielder, but as a regular????? I don't think so.

That trade was such a bad idea
I'm not liking it much either.

Looking like these asshats aren't even going to finish at .500 with the way they are going out with a wimper. One more shot tonight.
