^^^Agree 100%...especially the Robiskie part. The 'Hmmmmm' was about the 'agent'.:D and whether they really have the same agent, or if that was just sarcasm. I don't understand why either was kept around as long as they were. To an extent I could see Kearns, as the guy has been a productive player before.... but Robiskie??? Can't get open, can't catch, can't block, cant even fall on a freakin' fumble.

I hate stats like that. I feel like if you just add enough categories you could say every player was the first to do something.

Martinez '07 had 25 HR, 40 2B, 114 RBI, 78 R, and 62 BB.
Alomar '97 had 21 HR, 37 2B, 83 RBI, 63 R, and 19 BB.

Santana also had he also had 133 strikeouts and batted .240.
Strikeouts -Alomar never had more than 48, Shoppach had 133 once, and Martinez never had more than 78.
Batting Average (CLE)- Alomar .277, Shoppach .245, Martinez .297

I think the point is that Santana had a very good 1st full year in the majors. and as I alluded to earlier, it is not unreasonable to think he can/will get even better.

Carlos Santana is NOT a problem on this team. The health of Grady Sizemore, Sinn Soo Choo, Travis Hafner, Carlos Carrasco and Josh Tomlin is a problem. The lack of a potent right handed hitter(s) is a problem. The effectiveness and consistency of Fausto and Ubaldo is a problem. Locking up some of the young core players is a problem.

The Indians have some problems to solve and decisions to make in the off season. The first of which is whether to pick up the optioin on Sizemore and Carmona. Everything else moves from there.

Due to the White Sox loss they are guaranteed the "sole possession of 2nd place" part. Just need to get the "W."

.500 and 2nd place will look AWESOME in about 2 months.

Right now, it is a huge disappointment, but I think in 2 months, we would look back at that and be very pleased with this season.

Zeke hits a weak liner to short...Thome works the count to 3-2 before striking out (never touched a pitch)...Kipnis lines a single and steals second to get into scoring position...and Druby strikes out.

...and that's the way it ended.:(

Regardless, Santana filled up the stat sheet, and in his first full season, coming back from a major knee injury last season, and missing most of the offseason, that is impressive.

His batting average will go up. This was basically his rookie year. .BA isn't a good thing to judge a young player, and neither is K's. Santana is a power hitter who didn't have much protection in this line up. The #'s he put up for a catcher, especially in his first full year in the bigs is pretty amazing.

Per Matt Underwood...Tim Belcher stepping down as pitching coach to spend more with family will revert back to similar role as special asst to bball OPS. No replacement named at this time.

I'm sure it was. No manager goes out to argue balls and strikes the third batter of the game. I couldn't figure out why he did that (when it happened), because it just didn't add up or make any sense. ... but after reading that article, I understand perfectly.:thumbup:

Acta has always shown that he respects the game, the players and the coaches that play it the right way.

Honestly a hell of a year. Last couple of weeks have fizzled, but we had a great run. Some great wins. Great threads on the OC. I am not going to try and BS anybody, I had the Indians competing with the O's for worst record in the AL. Obviously, some disappointment after how things were looking in the middle of May, but those guys got some great experience to see how it feels to be in first place and what it takes to maintain that level of play for an entire year. We saw some good things that bode well for the future in Santana, Kipnis, Brantley, Tomlin, Carrasco (in spurts). We had a couple of bonafide stars emerge in Masterson and Cabrera. Obviously, some big disappointments in Sizemore, Choo (what could have happened without a DUI and injuries we don't know) and LaPorta. The Jimenez was both exciting (in that the FO made a move to help our team at the All-Star break) and disappointing (that is didn't work out this year). Hopefully he has a great offseason of rest and he can be a stud #2 for this team.

Other things to be exciting about: Pestano, Sipp and CP (in save situations only!). Those 3 are young enough to anchor this bullpen for years and if we can make every game 6 or 7 innings that is a huge.

Hopefully we don't sit on our hands this offseason. It is dumb to even consider, but how good would our middle infield and top of the order look if Jose Reyes was here?

Also on the wish list is a good left handed starter. CJ Wilson anybody?

Well, I am a little disappointed in ending up under .500 and glad it's over. I wanted to post a pic on something like "putting us out of our misery", but when I Googled that.........this came up:



So........I took it to share with all my fellow Tribe Stalwarts who stuck it out through the whole season! :thumbup:
