When you pay a 50% premium on a product, you better like it to the maximum, otherwise you're just trashing your own community. Apple has the best marketing department in history, that doesn't mean their products are worth the premium price.
I have an iPhone, but will never own any other Apple products, because I believe they are greatly overpriced. I used Blackberry, Droid, and Apple phones, and preferred the iPhone over the rest. It's just a personal preference, and has nothing to do w/ fitting into a certain community. I will never recommend an Apple computer unless the price comes down in respect to the product they are offering.

Congratulations. You are in the .5% of Apple users who don't buy the product to belong.

I only bought my MBP so I wouldn't get laughed at when I went to Starbucks and Panera.

My last two windows laptops were roughly the same price as my MBP. They were all right around $1800. And the HPs turned in to piles of shit within 2 years.

It's not, if you need such a laptop. I would never pay $1100 for one, because I don't need one with all the stuff an $1100 laptop has. I need to surf the web and use Microsoft Office, so I have no need to spend that much money.

Overpriced when you can get a similar computer with similar stats for about half that price. Cue the "Oh yeah well my Dell crapped out in a week so I had to buy the MAC". LOL

I've had a Dell for 10 years, no problems.

10 years? lol....must be ancient.

I'm a huge fan of Macbooks for many reasons, but I'm not anti-PC. I also have a Thinkpad. They both serve their purpose.

I've had a Dell refurb for 6 years. Spilled a large McDonald's Iced Tea cup full of ice water right on it, and it still works great.

Dells are the best value computer out there. For its cost, they are overall the best computers on the Market. I like MBPs, but I'd never spend more than $600 on one. That's the maximum that they are worth. When you buy a MAC, the premium you pay is to join the MAC community so you'll have something to talk about in your boring and hopefully heavily sedated life.

I ran over my MBP with my truck and accidentally dropped it in a pond. Still runs like new.
