I have an iPhone, but will never own any other Apple products, because I believe they are greatly overpriced. I used Blackberry, Droid, and Apple phones, and preferred the iPhone over the rest. It's just a personal preference, and has nothing to do w/ fitting into a certain community. I've had a Dell for 10 years, no problems.
I'm a huge fan of Macbooks for many reasons, but I'm not anti-PC. I also have a Thinkpad. They both serve their purpose.

Dells are the best value computer out there. For its cost, they are overall the best computers on the Market. I like MBPs, but I'd never spend more than $600 on one. That's the maximum that they are worth.
