Runner on 3rd....1 out and Stubbs watches strike 3.

After BP gets to 3rd with one out, Stubbs gives away the RBI chance without having to have a hit with a terrible K. Then the bad Cubs give them the run anyway on Castro's error. Doesn't look like either team is trying to hard for a win!

Very simple....this time it benefitted him to get his career high in doubles....it doesn't benefit him to try to beat out a DP.

Yeah....as stated earlier after a 5 pitch inning the Cubs followed with an 8 pitch offense.

Both teams suck.

Bruce lays off and draws a walk to advance the tying run to 3rd. Would you rather have any of the Reds righties on the bench up in this situation in place of Alonso?

Those righties draw a righty pitcher.

Kinda felt like Heisey time...had Alonso came through Heisey was going into LF you figure.

Alonso makes it a respectable AB after he was robbed.

Maybe so, but I think it was the right move to leave Alonso in there, for his own psyche if nothing else. If they'd have brought the lefty in against Francisco, I'd have no qualms pinch hitting for him.

Text book great execution of the play to gun down the runner trying to score from first on a hit to the RF corner.
