I think Northwest fans will see much of what they saw against John Hay....a very BALANCED offense with a solid enough defense to back it up.

Your schedule is very weak!

We were lucky to fill out a schedule because of leaving the NBC. Canfield, Poland, Columbus St Charles, New Philadelphia, Parma Padua, & Orriville are not weak teams. It also looks like Barberton & St. Thomas may be on the upswing. John Hay was supposedly improving so the AD probably thought it was like scheduling Firestone like we have played the last few years, & who knows about Canton South from year to year.

No not at all. Scheduling teams in smaller divisions is a bad idea (orrville) (St thomas aquinas). They are D5. You would never find Orrville playing any D5 school or any smaller. For an independent schedule I think its a good enough schedule to be playoff possible scenario ahead. All the teams look like the could have 3 to 6 wins and some more. I don't see any winless teams there and all should be winnable games which helps you get to the playoffs and as a bonus each win will get us points also. St Thomas may be a DV but only play 2 teams their size all the rest are larger much like our schedule. I remember when we were independent we played some weak inner city schools also so it comes down to playing whoever you can fill the schedule with when all the teams are playing league games in weeks 4 thru 10.
A larger school with 0 or 1 wins does no good so a smaller school with 5 to 7 wins is better for your computer run.

New Phila is D2. But take a close look at Region 11, you could win all the remaining games and still not get in the playoffs. Dover went 8-2 last year and just squeaked into the 8 spot and that was before the region was realigned. We have 6 Div 2 and 4 Div 3 schools scheduled this year and 8-2 is scary looking towards playoffs.

Yeah, I don't really see how we have a weak schedule, but who cares...that is the best we could do as a late independent. The boys just need to get out there, do their best and win football games. If that gets us into the playoffs then great, if not then there is always next season. With our schedule, I would say an 8-2 will definitely get us in though...no matter how stacked the region is.

Northwest schedule is fine!!! We are a Division 3 school who were fortunate enough to have a football program thankfully to the passage of the levy!!! As far as scheduling, we have no business scheduling a Div. 1-2 schedule.

Northwest is going to have to keep working hard and improve each week!

I remember some pretty tough games against Canton South! Just a thought, if Northwest was to go over there and play them thinking they are a bad team and lose, we would be 1-2 just like them! You better go ahead and play your @ss off and be who you are!

What matters is filling out a schedule being an independent team...Orrville fans should know. Im sorry but padua, canfield, poland, st. charles, and new philly are good programs. I have no idea why you are saying our schedule is weak. Because we play St. thomas? hahaha

There are several teams that have a good shot at making the playoffs this year and all the teams will pick up some good wins so if NW can win they can make it in....Unfortunately Orrville was one of the games that would have really helped with the points

not a week schedule and Poland and Padua played light years better than Marlington did against Buchtel......I would still be embarrassed if I was from Marlington

Wow really a good schedule? You play 3 teams that are smaller than you and one that is 2 divisons smaller. When Orrville was independent we scheduled teams such as Dover, Canton Central Catholic. You gotta do better than this schedule. Taht is why after beating John Hay you all are 15 in your region in computer points oh and should I mention St Charles is 0-2 and wont help you either. Believe what you want NW fans but you will have to win out to make the playoffs. Just ask New Philly from 2 yrs ago when they went 9-1 and were on the outside looking in. YOU WILL NOT BEAT A TEAM THIS YEAR WITH A WINNING RECORD AND THAT EQUALS NO PLAYOFFS!!!! Thanks for playing!!!!!!

New Phila is better this year (it seems) but have made the playoffs twice in school history losing both in game 1. They went 9-1 a few years ago and didn't get in. They have lost something like 17 of the past 20 games against Dover.
