Campbell travels to Liberty on Friday. The Red Devils are coming off two blowout wins over Mineral Ridge and South Range. Liberty has lost its first two games of the season to Youngstown East and Niles McKinley. Campbell's offense has been unstoppable thus far and their first team defense has not been scored upon. Liberty looks to be down this year. But the Leopards always have some athletes and speed. What are your thoughts on this game?

Much of the same. I am not watching the 200 plus yards the starting TB puts up this week. Or our outstanding kicking game. Or our improved defensive effort. Or the crisp clean throws our QB has been making to a few very good WR. Im watching something else this week to see if it is getting corrected.

Let's not forget the Leopards gave the Devils the closest game of all the wins last year, 15-14, if I remember correctly.

Liberty usually has the speed to compete and usually gives us fits. Granted last year was last year and the first game without Skev, but they always get up for this game.

In my mind, I see us having the ability to beat anyone around. Biased? Absolutely, but this is a pretty damn good Devils team.

Beat those leopards!

Week 3 same as week 1 and 2. I don't know of any team on the schedule that will match Campbell's speed and passing game running game and defensive game and punting game. Girard? Might but i cant see them bringing Hughes to a complete stop and that what any team must do to win. And Just say they do stop him enough they better have some great CB. If Campbell would have kept the first String in in all 4qts in both games they easily would have scored 60 on each. I told everyone this team is real i smelled it in the Passing Scrimmage. This team is 20 times better then last year. and we made game 2 of the playoffs. I just hope we get enough points to get in cause this happen to Girard a few years back. Eww that would set me off.

Liberty is a weak team, nowhere near the caliber of what they were a few years ago. Niles put up 29 on them the other night. If Niles did that, Campbell will certainly do at least the same.

Campbell's speed on offense is scary. Defensively we have gotten better. The penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct needs to stop. Games at Labrae & Girard will determine our playoff fate. I don't like the fact that we blitz our ILB's every play. By the way, Manchester only lost 11 seniors. They had a lot coming back. So Girard' s win over them on the road is a little more impressive IMO.

I've said it before..........a week of practice preparing to play Campbell Memorial is difficult. Why? It's not likely any team in the regular season can emulate the speed Campbell has when preparing to play them. Any team can watch film on them. And in practice they can simulate the plays Campbell's offense is more likely to run against their defense. But they cannot simulate the speed Campbell has. They find out how fast Campbell is when they get on the field against them on Friday night. Regardless of the good things I have seen from the Campbell team thus far, I do have some concerns about them. My concerns are shared by a few others.

Liberty is way down, Campbell wins easily.

I miss not having Campbell on the Quakers schedule--hopefully that can happen again sometime.

Good luck this season Devils!

Campbell will miss the Quakers too. Ashtabula Edgewood has replaced Salem on the Campbell schedule. Edgewood is nowhere near the caliber of football program of Salem.

Liberty may be down but they still have some decent speed and good athletes. Campbell needs to focus and get the job done.

How has Campbell's Middle School and Freshmen teams looked so far this year? I know concerns were voiced about Campbell's JVs this year.

i never heard any concerns about the jvs to be honest...actually half the gridiron meeting is dedicated to underclassmen by sikora in my estimation. he loves whats coming up especially the freshman class. not to mention 6 freshmen are seeing varsity pt in these blow outs. sikoras got a special run ahead of him and he knows it.

That's exactly what Sikora said the other night. We are blessed to have such a great staff in place.

lets look at the upcoming years for a minute. you have charles smith, reyes, shaq, burnett, no. 14 (name?) no. 33 all logging time as starters as juniors. then you have 3 sophomores logging serious playing time, including a starter on the offensive line. you have 6 freshmen playing a jv schedule as well as logging varsity playing time. all this coupled with a great sophmore and loaded freshman class...i dont see any hiccups for awhile to come.

#14 is Adrian Brown (sophomore or junior, not real sure), #33 is Shamar Robbins (junior), #20 is Ja'lel Shorter (sophomore), #51 is Dre Kelly (sophomore), #52 Ryan Kelly (sophomore), #54 is Steven O'Dea (freshman). And speaking of the freshmen, they beat Struthers 12-8 earlier today.

My bad... I thought I read somewhere that the JVs hadn't scored a TD yet. I was under the impression that the Freshmen played BL tonight. Do our JVs play Campbell this week too?
