Can't believe some good enough to start for an NFL team is in a battle with Eric Crouch for a UFL team's starting spot.
With Peyton Manning's second surgery and, imo, likely upcoming retirement, maybe Troy can slide right in to that starter's spot in Indy? ;)

Smith starts, guaranteed. Unless they run the triple option.

Saw in the Dispatch yesterday that Troy Smith was the 3rd string QB for Omaha. He had been behind Jeremiah Masoli and Eric Crouch. Masoli starts for team. Smith is the back-up for now while Crouch recovers from a knee injury.

Good call to all of those who said he passed up on $500,000 to play in UFL for $50,000 so that he could start. Pick6 looks particularly intelligent right now.

But, but, but.....I thought Crouch only started because he was a local favorite???? Now he's hurt and Masoli starts????

So much for that theory.

I brought this up in the Buckeye game thread. First pick6 claimed the 49ers and the NFL had no idea how good he was, now he says the Nighthawks don't know how good he is

haha goons. jordo, you are one to talk about football intelligence..arent you the one who went to Miller??? LOL their football program is and always will be a joke.

anyways..cool story. What makes you think the head coach knows what he is doing? The former CEO of TD Ameritrade is the coach, lol. His only coaching experience is being an unpaid voluntary assistant at Nebraska LOL. Oh yea, seeing that he has ties to Nebraska, that could explain why Crouch was starting? Its pretty obvious the UFL is only caring about making money right now..hire an ex-ceo as your coach and president? Located in Nebraska...so you get their former beloved Heisman trophy winner? Looks like a marketing thing to me.

And Smith is now the starter, a little google search isnt that hard. nice fail.

Cool. Let's see how he does now that he's been announced as the starter.

yes we will, I'll have to pay attention when they play again, because I know after he does better than Masoli and Crouch, you fools wont bring it up.

And so much for my theory ewok, huh??? Why hire a business man whose only coaching experience is voluntary assisting. Its pretty obvious that the UFL is only concerned about making money for the time being. But maybe you dont realize that, because you arent a business minded person, who knows.

First, where does where somebody went to high school have anything to do with their overall intelligence / football intelligence?

Second, you are wrong about their head coach (Omaha) he coached for 15 years before he went to work at Ameritrade. He has experience.

Last of all, that article says nothing about him being named the starter haha. So what is all this talk about failing? It looks as if Smith is just going to get more opportunities to split time with Masoli.

Will you bump this thread and demand he be named starting QB for the 49ers again?

Bring it up when Smith starts for an NFL team, which is what you said. Congrats on him splitting snaps in the UFL after injuries.

And you are business minded. Which is why Troy Smith isn't playing in the NFL like you think he deserves to.

Talentless pieces of crap dont play in the NFL, let alone win in the NFL. Smith has a winning record as a starter for the 49ers, too bad Alex Smith cant say the same.

You really are gonna use that? How many games did he even start like 2?

There is a very very good reason that small sample sizes are not used when talking stats for any sport. Lets see if you can figure out why that is...

Pick6 isnt business minded at all. His love of Ohio State is clouding his opinion of Smith. He can't take the emotion out of it.

Almost everybody in football circles seems to believe Smith doesnt have "it." Yet pick6 believes all of these people are missing out on Smith. Weird. They apparently aren't seeing what pick6 has seen
