Iliketurtles, I have no problem replying if questions are sincere and I feel as if yours is. I have 3 kids. Only 1 old enough to even think about Santa, toothfairy, etc. We play with those traditions as well, but we also teach them that the true meaning of Christmas - Jesus' birth, Easter - His death, etc. and so forth. Our 8-year old son enjoy(ed) believing in Santa, until he just found out...and the other traditions, but he also can tell you what he believes each season is about.
We don't force religion down his throat, but we do provide the basics of our faith for him to learn about and hopefully examine and determine if he accepts those beliefs as his own when he gets old enough to decide. Faith is a personal reaction to what life experiences are presented. I can't make you, or my own kids, believe in what I have experienced. Therefore, I only share from my life and what I believe is true.
I also believed in Christianity, with doubts throughout the years, but it wasn't until I went to Israel and Jerusalem a few years ago that a lot of it made sense. Do I believe some of the stories in the Bible are hard to believe? Absolutely, but the morals behind the stories speak louder.
justin - I respect that decision; however, religion is a very popular topic in every state, country and so forth! It's one of the most highly argued topic among people today (kind of sad to say).
As for your other comments - where does that good come from? And, how do you know it's "good." Good has to be defined somewhere, doesn't it? Good by your standards or a higher being's?
